Visited by chance en route to Cardiff. Quaint and characterful stone wall dining room. Very warm welcome from waitress and chef ( the latter who came to our table to give us a full bulletin of the history of the five spring waters of Llanwrtyd Wells in answer to a question we had asked the waitress). Extensive menu of home...

After a long drive round the tour route we landed in Llanwrtyd Wells. We spotted the sign outside offering afternoon tea and went in. Despite it being quite late and there were nine of us, we were told they could accommodate us if all we wanted was coffee and cake which suited us down to the ground. There was a...

W stopped for a very light lunch on a Sunday, when they must want to concentrate on just full lunches. A very attractive interior with nicely laid tables. The staff were very attentive but not pushy, just brill. Our lunch was very very nice and well presented. The other dinners were having the proper Sunday lunch and it looked lovely,...

We came in for a light lunch and we're so glad we did. The food was delicious. The soup was one of the best I had eaten! The service was excellent. The lady who served us couldn't have been more pleasant. There is a balcony overlooking the river but the weather prevented us from sitting there. Next time!! There will...

Stayed here recently and Peter (the owner) could not have been more obliging. The rooms are comfortable and the food is fantastic (I can recommend the full Welsh breakfast for a real treat). We are planning another trip to Llanwrtyd Wells soon, and hope to stay at the Drovers’ Rest again.

My wife and I had a lovely meal.Service was prompt and polite. Lovely intimate atmosphere. More expensive than pub/restaurant grub but for the quality it was well worth it. We be have been before and will do so again.

Dropped in here for a quick drink but, liked it so much decided to have a simple Ploughmans meal and was really pleased with the food, how it was presented and the service. The weather was a bit cold and damp (very surprising for Wales in September!!) but we still sat on the balcony overlooking the river and spent a...

Visited early evening and the food was fresh, tasty, and well presented. A lovely bistro restaurant. The waiting staff were young, pleasant and smiley but were not attentive at all. They did not notice we wanted a spare spoon so I stole one off the next table - this is in spite of them coming in and out of the...

A last minute cycling break in Wales and on arriving at the Hotel we received the warmest of welcomes closely followed by a pot of tea and cake! Peter (the owner) was a great host and housed our bikes safely inside as well as carried our bags to our room. Dinner at this place is always fantastic and Peter didn't...

As a cyclist, this was the very best place I have stayed. The food and room were excellent. Nearby are the most most beautiful Welsh hills and countryside. The food is of the highest standard, as is the service. After a day's riding I felt the warmest of welcome. This included safe storage of my bike within the building! I...
