Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, whole experience amazing. We had a private dinner party in the back room overlooking the beautiful garden, the whole experience was amazing! Food, service ambience fantastic, could not fault anything. Did the previous reviewer go to the same place??? The hotel has much more than the BEAR NECCESSITIES. Would definitely go back.

I attended as part of a special Birthday function. Myself and my family had travelled over 2 hours to attend so as you'd imagine I was ready for my meal. What greeted me was a lump of goats cheese on what could have been a coaster....didn't think I needed a steak knife for a starter. Ah well.... looking forward to...

We wrote a letter a letter of complaint concerning an issue that arose when we attended The Bear for a private function to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday. Initially management didn't even have the courtesy to respond. Following writing for a second time the letter of response we had was appallingly rude and they made no apology whatsoever. We had...

Old world decoration with a lovely ambience and spot on service. Beautiful locally sourced food with lots on the menu for vegetarians and pescatarians. We went at lunch time and there was no time pressure.

Great place to stay. Rooms are all nice, staff extremely friendly. The pub is a really nice local - with lots of space. The bar food/restaurant is everything pub food should be - plenty of choice and really nice. Staff are very friendly and Crickhowell is a lovely town to use as a base for a longer visit.

On a drizzling wet Sunday early evening we managed to get a table at The Bear hotel. The service was exceptional especially as it was very busy and the staff extremely polite and courteous. The food was fantastic and both of our meals including desserts were tasty and you could tell all produce was local. Would recommend to anyone in...
