I returned to Mpila again this year and stayed in the 7 bed cottage. It's secluded and private. The caretaker is very friendly and helpful. Thank you! The best part is the braai at night and waiting for the hyena to come look for something to snack on. I just wish they would someday upgrade the 7 bed cottage as...

Where to find? In the middle of Hluhluwe Game Reserve, in the part of IMFOLZI - different to Main Camp at Hluhluwe, since here are no fences ! Great experience inside the spacious safari tent with own bathroom and a private veranda with own kitchen. ( There is no restaurant here!, The hilltop with restaurant is quite a long drive,...

Last January I took my brother-in-law to Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. I had booked the safari tents months in advance through KZN Wildlife. I have always opted to book, because of questions, by email. What I will say though is always double check everything! I ended up with two tents not one, paid for both, and no refund. My fault for not...

Being a bush fan I have frequented Kruger National Park all my life but living in Durban it is a bit far. We decided to book at Mpila Camp and what a great surprise. The camp offers everything one would need for that bush feeling. Accommodation, although old, was spacious and spotlessly clean with all (and adequate) utensils and crockery....

Mpila camp is rustic and basic camp, but with good bush vibes. The camp is not fenced (only a elephant fence which allows smaller animal to cross). Impalas use the ground around the tents to rest at night and hyenas are common visitors around barbecues. We also saw spotted genets and bushpigs from the tented units, which have a nice...

Nice camp in the wild. We stayed in one of the tents which are pretty basic but all you would need. Only downside were the dirty bed linens... Beware of the hyenas at night, one of them stole our steak from the grill. Umfolozi is great, nice hides with lots of animals, high chance of seeing lions !

The Bush experience is fantastic. Its an unfenced camp (with the exception of wires apparently for elephant). We stayed two nights and were visited by various buck, warthog and an inquisitive hyena. The location of our tent was perfect with no-one in front or next to us. The permanent tent has an attached open-air bathroom and small but well-equipped kitchen....

Mpila was a perfect spot for us, we spent 3 nights in one of the tents - the bathroom and kitchenette are adjoined and everything was neat and clean. The bathroom is quite open to outside critters so at night don't forget to turn the lights on when you walk in. The camp is unfenced, which meant that every night...

We have been visiting Mpila regularly for the past 15 years or so, always in the tents and just returned from another fantastic week. For a rustic bush camp run by KZN wildlife, the tents have everything you could want and are perfectly comfortable. All feel very isolated and you do have the feeling of solitude. It is a national...

The camp has a really great location. But need some refurbishments in the bathroom. Otherwise it is very good to stay there to visit the park. You can see and listen wild animals at night, it is wonderful. A little bit expensive.

Thank Steven B
