I have been there three times now in the last two year and I will return every time I visit Maun and surrounding areas, as the lodge has the most professional and organized service in the hole area. When staying at the lodge you don't have to worry about arrangement to be entertained, transport to the airport, boat safaris, game...

I have stayed at Thamalakane a few times over the past few years, and have enjoyed each one of my trips there. All the staff are really friendly and they did everything to fit us in at the last minute. In December, we thought we would try out somewhere different and we went around to a number of lodges in...

The lodge is beautiful and professionally run. Renovations have resulted in luxurious rooms and dining areas. The food was well prepared and had great variety. The lodge is right on the river and provides a back drop for scenery and sunsets. I will be going back again one day, but will stay a lot longer.

The setting is lovely & the rooms are nice enough (although I'd always greatly prefer a door between bedroom & loo) but the service is appalling. We waited an hour and 45 minutes for simple lunch (we were the only people there at the time) and were asked to confirm our order three times. The cost of activities was prohibitive...

Thank you very much for the feedback .We pride ourselves in serving all our guests the best we can so it is concerning for us when any of our guests are unhappy. Our prices are clearly stated on our website . The concerning fact for us is that you have left the premises without settling your outstanding bill for you...

After having spent a week in a rooftop-tent, we enjoyed sleeping in a real bed again. Originally, one night was planned, but we cancelled our last night in Nxai Pan and called to check if they had a room for another night. It was possible so we spent two nights. As we had booked a complete arrangement, we did not...

I went to Botswana on the least (but very good) luxurious of safaris, so my two nights stay in Thamalakane were a comfortable respite from sleeping in a tent and using bush ablutions. The rooms are spacious the property is large and quiet - it is a good drive outside of Maun. The staff are friendly and endearing. Its worth...

A warm welcome was received on our arrival. The cottages were ideally situated for a view of the river, which we made the most of from our veranda. Beds were very comfy and loved the bathroom and especially the shower. The exceptionally high ceilings added to the beauty of the setting. It was a pleasure to have an a la...

For anyone traveling through Maun - the Thamalakane River lodge is a little slice of heaven on earth. Fantastic high ceilinged, thatched top roofs on individual quarters with netted beds, gorgeous showers and fast wifi. Everyone is delightful and so accommodating. We stayed there twice - coming and going from the bush - and appreciated the food, the service and...
