I stayed one night en route from Joburg to Cape Town. In a quiet street even by Graaff-Reinet standards, some nice views of the mountains. A friendly welcome from the host, who had booked me in to a restaurant for dinner, but from then on its no service self catering. I was in one of the newly converted cottages across...

We with our 2-yr old booked the Family Room at Cypress Cottage in Graaff-Reinet on route between Jhb and Plett and found ourselves in two minds about the room and hospitality offered. It started out by us not exactly knowing where to go or park on arrival as directions were a bit here and there... It got much better when...

Stayed one night while visiting the Valley of Desolation. Big, clean and comfortable rooms. Needed laundry to be done as soon as possible and staff made an effort to make it possible. The cottages are in a separate house than the owner/reception which made it quite difficult to contact our host - must go outside and knock on the door...

GraaF Reinet is a useful halfway point to stop on your way to the Garden Route. By the time you get here you have broken the back of your journey and you will want a compfy bed, good breakfast and a cool house to chill out in at the end of a long day's driving.

Excellent facilities. The room was comfortable and spacious and beautifully decorated. The outside areas viz. the veranda and garden are lovely to relax in. The staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. It was a splendid place to overnight in the very pretty town of Graaff-Reinet.

We stayed for 2 nights with our 2 kids (both under the age of 2). Experienced amazing hospitality in the most beautiful cottage in a gem of a town. Hilary and her staff went out of their way to accommodate us at short notice and made our weekend super special! Situated in a quiet, yet central part of town. Off-street,...

We have stayed for 2 nights with our two children. Very cosy atmosphere and great service. A garden to sit in and to run around, great cooked breakfast at the cottage. In the town but very quiet, walking distance to the restaurants and shops. We are certanly comming back when in neighbourhood.

Had an absolute dream of a weekend here. The location, accommodation, amenities, the overall attention to detail and the aura of the place is magnificent. If you can get a spot then take it. The accommodation across the road is spectacular, with an indoor fireplace, rustic come modern charm, incredibly well maintained garden with herbs and fruit trees, gravel courtyard...
