My sister and I stayed here before and after our Kilimanjaro trek and would definitely not recommend it. The night we stayed before our trek was acceptable, though we were put on the 3rd floor which they are renovating and our room was practically in a building site, though the room itself was fairly smart (apart from the gaping hole...

The hotel was fine, nothing too special. A friend and I stayed here the nights before climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. Breakfast was passable but certainly nothing great. The restaurant across the street is an "italian-indian" fusion restaurant. None of our dishes were very good, and it's tough to find actual East African food in the area. It's fine to stay here...

Stayed here for two nights in one of the Tsh #30,000 rooms (private bath, ceiling fan, no AC). I had a room that was recently renovated and was clean. The appointments in the room are extremely basic and there is no question that this is strictly a budget hotel. The bathroom was OK, but at others had mentioned, there is...

We arrived at the hotel after a 10 hour bus trip from Dar es Salaam, and asked the taxi driver to take us to The Buffalo as it was the only hotel name we knew. Being very tired (and it was 7pm) we felt we could not be choosy and although the room we were shown did not look too...

We recently stayed at Buffalo Hotel in Moshi - first night we got a renovated room - which was great especially for the price (note: worth paying more for the renovated rooms, the unrenovated rooms are dirty, uncomfortable beds and you don't necessarily get a toilet seat). I would have given the hotel a good rating based on price and...

I stayed there for 1 night before and 1 night after the Kilimanjaro trek and everything was ok, the rooms are comfortable with mosquito nets, breakfast ok and helpfull staff. The only thing who's very enoying when you want to rest is to stay in a room who' situated just above the disco bar...! The Indian/Italian restaurant in front of...

Rooms clean and adequate for the price you pay. Staff however are not friendly at all! Not friendly and make it seem like any request is too much for them. The hotel is in the middle of Moshi, very central, excellent location.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It is very conveniently located in the centre of Moshi, but off the main road, and directly opposite the very popular IndoItalian restaurant (which is great!) The rooms are basic, but clean. The bed was comfortable, the net was good, and the shower was hot, with plenty of water. There is a TV...

We checked out several places before deciding to stay at the Buffalo. Our decision was based on reasonable price and clean bright room and it's only a short walk from the bus station but off the main road so quiet yet convenient for getting around. I always pay in Tanzanian shillings if possible as you usually get a better rate,...

We got to this place based on the description of our fairly old guidebook, but this turned out to be a mistake. It's not the room, but the 'service' of the staff that makes me advise you to not stay here. The girls at the reception desk were very unwelcoming and unfriendly to start with, anything seemed to be to...
