Stayed here with a group of friends. Turned out we were the only people there. Accommodation was pretty good, but the service was very hit and miss. We payed full board, and while the lunch was delicious, dinner was another matter. Power cut at the start meant we ate by our own torchlight. Soup was great, but then onto cold...

I am so sorry you had such a bad experience at lake Chala, in fact I am appalled, I was away in Moshi shopping for various things, including 'fanusi' lights, as all the Chala ones seem to have 'walked' while the place was without management. I really cannot apologize enough, and if you should think of coming back I would...

The tents are really luxurious with comfy beds and all amenities and a great balcony with stunning views over the bush. Carolyn is a lovely host. This visit the guide took us for a long walk along the dry river bed into Kenya we were hoping to see the leopards that have been spotted but no such luck. If you...

We visited this lodge / campsite back in 2011, and even though it was still under construction at the time, found it simply wonderful. Very attentive and helpful staff, spotless ablutions, beautiful views over Lake Chala, free access to the lake, and plenty game around. Revisited recently (Sept 2015), and sadly much has changed. Now everyone is charged a ridiculous...

Great tented camps. Comfortable bed, nice accommodations. Got a few dings for multiple reasons. Pros: Nice hike down to lake, 10 min walk. Bar with cold beer Easy to find. Cons: No running water when we were there. Might be fixed soon but who knows, its africa. Management was pole pole with everything and not accommodating. $25 park fee, but...

We stayed for 2 nights in the luxury tents at Lake Chala Safari camp. The lake is stunning, the dining/bar area is a lovely wooden structure with incredible views and the band/hut/luxury tent was very comfortable and spacious. It has a great veranda overlooking the plains and all in all is extremely picturesque, calm and tranquil. However... The luxury tents...

We stayed in one of the luxury tents for one night. The bed and bedding was really comfortable. The view of the lake and the valley was great, and fortunately I went out at dusk and looked west so I caught the view of Kibo and Mawenzi. The wine list was great, the food really good, and we took a...

This is a great place to visit. Unfortunately now you gave to pay an entrance fee 25$ to the Tz govt. as it is designated as a Wildlife Management Area. If they use the money to bring back the elephants it would be great, but it has placed a severe burden on this very well planned lodge. Fantastic camp site,...

We camped here and had a wonderful quiet authentic experience as you can camp a long way from anyone else and make a camp fire under the stars. Campsite facilities are good. Lake Chala is a beautiful spot and the walk round the lake is a fabulouse walk albeit a bit prickly! We have eaten several times at the restaurant...

I stayed here with 7 of my friends + 2 dogs this past weekend. We had perfect weather, a great time in the rooms and an even better time in the lake. The food was good, some dishes were great while others needed some more work. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were tidy but a few...

Stayed here with a group of friends for NYE. We all had a great time and I would recommend this place to friends. The lake is beautiful, truly wonderful and the rooms are also very good too. Great beds, loads of hit water, fridge and tea and coffee. The food was more of a mixed bag. It took an awful...
