The layout of the property is more or less like the other Sopa properties. Nice large rooms and decent sized bathroom. The rooms have two large beds. They have played a spike guard in every room and it helps you charge various devices. The rooms are on a hill, which means there is a slope you would have to walk...

The Sopa Lodge is located directly on the ngorongoro crater rim. The view is astonishing and you can't get enough of it. The rooms are very spacious and have a nice view as well. IN the evening while you're at dinner the room attendands prepare your room and put a hot water bottle under the blanket as well (because it...

During our 6 day and 5 night safari, this place has got to be one of the better places we stayed at (and we were only here for one night). The staff were incredibly friendly to us and the front desk even helped us speak to another hotel to figure out rides. The food here was also really good, during...

The thing that I remember most about this restaurant was the looooong, uphill walk from your room back to the restaurant. Because of the altitude it makes it incredibly tough. It wasn’t that it was that steep but at high altitude, you struggle to breathe. Trust me; if you have elderly people with you then I would ask for a...

We just spent a night there, arriving late in the evening and departing early in the morning the next day. So we missed the romantic sun set over the crater. Warm welcome, followed by a quick check in. Had a warm shower, followed by dinner. There was a good spread at the buffet table. The rooms were large with clean...

Just the location is reason enough to stay in this comfortable, spacious lodge that was designed to enhance your experience in this wild setting. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful. So true what everyone else has said about the food but for me, it's the quality of people and the location that make this place shine. One of the...

I have stayed at several Sopa Lodges in Tanzania and the service and the quality of the facilities has been uniformly top quality. The staff are very polite and professional. The rooms are superbly appointed and the they are designed to give you a feel of the wilderness that's just outside the walls and windows. Highly recommended!

Rooms are great - very spacious clean and modern. Breakfast and dinners are buffet style and a fantastic variety and ranges of food and drinks. The coffee bar is a great place for that caffeine pickup. Very impressed by the staff's friendliness and service. An outdoor pool provides spectacular sunset views of the famous Ngorongoro crater, with the grounds providing...

There is no hiding the fact that Sopa Ngorongoro is a BIG lodge ready to handle large volumes of tourists, and yet there is plenty staff on the floor ready to assist and help and make you feel as comfortable as possible. Both my room and my friends room (in a wheel chair) where clean, comfortable and the showers were...
