We were booked to stay for 3 nights by our tour guide. But had to leave after the 1st night. Outside is beautiful and very authentic. Inside needs a lot of maintenance. Had good hot shower but was leaking. Had no a.c. or fan and very noisy from the traffic outside.

Clean rooms, good Internet connection, hot water, good breakfast, friendly staff. Quiet place but close to the central street with restaurants and shops. I consider Madarana Hotel being a good value for money. I can certainly recommend staying here.

The Madarana Hotel offers clean spacious rooms, modern on the inside, traditional Tongkala style on the outside. The feel in the cool lobby might seem a little Congress Hotel at first glance, but staff is really relaxed and friendly, yet professional when it comes to English, recommendations, laundry service, and breakfast! So totally worth the slightly higher price if you need a...

The rooms are nice, clean and very big. The hotel looks like a classic Tana Toraja house and is located in the center of Rantepao. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The hotel also has a guide called Constantino who can help visiting the sites of Tana Toraja. I will go there again for sure.

Simple rooms with fans and private bathrooms in large Torajan houses. Very pretty from the outside but rather run down inside. Bathrooms do have hot water but are relatively old (no maintenance beyond the very necessary) and are a home to quite a lot of mosquitos. We were lucky to get a room facing the backyard, but if you are...

We stayed at the Madarana hotel for five nights. It was arranged for us so we don't know how much we paid, our tourguide in Makassar promised us it was a decent mid-range hotel. Upside: The rooms are really big, the shower is hot and the breakfast is fine (fruit, omelette/fried rice/toast, tea/coffee and fresh juice) and the rooms were...

The owner was not friendly from the start, and was mainly focused on money. He rent us a motorbike 75000 (price 60000 in town) and wanted to charge an extra day because we didn't leave the key back at the reception! Above all, remarks about the late time we took the breakfast and no smile made us go away; wich...

The staff also is very helpful and full of smile. Good breakfast and the room price is only IDR 350,000. Its really worth it to stay...

We were here for 3 nights in 10/2011. The rooms are realy big and the shower has hot water! Breakfast is ok. The stuff is really friendly and provides a body massage (60 minutes) for 150 000 Rupia (ca 12€). It is a bit outside (5 Minutes to walk) city center and so a more quite place. If you stay...
