Just expect a clean bed for a transit budget hotel. The room was small and clean, but no toilet paper, no hand towel. If you call the reception, they don't answer. Since our room included breakfast, we asked if you could get something packed, as we had to leave by 7:15Am, but they said no. If you reach late, don't expect a parking.

Mosquitoes were everywhere and lots of them. They were mosquitoes inside the bedrooms and event rooms. Place were run down. Bathroom hardly can move around despite me taking the family room to avoid cramp up room even though there's only 2 of us. You need to fight with the bathroom door to move around. You have to ask for toilet paper each day otherwise they won't provide.

Just stayed for a day before travelling to the Penang Island.

The Hotel is located around 2.5 kms away from the Butterworth Ferry / Bus / Train Station.

Staff were freindly and Nice.

Rooms are in medium size and it is fine for staying for a day or two.

Great hotel for the price. The evening reception staff could do with being a little more happy to see you on check in. In the morning we woke up with no water in our room so they gave us another room to shower before we checked out.

Stayed in this hotel for 1 night at the end of July as we traveled North and not wanting to stay in the island.

Price: called hotel direct and the rate is much cheaper than what the internet hotel agents advertised. Could be due to the Raya promotion not being updated.

Location: within 5 minutes drive from the ferry terminal. Ample parking space and is free. There's a big Indian restaurant and a Chinese food court within 10 minutes walking distance across the road.

Front desk: Checked in (and check out) was easy.

Room: we stayed in the Standard room which is very small especially with a King-size bed, a cupboard, a writing desk and an old TV console (old picture tube type) with very limited channels (no Astro or satelite channels) that leaves very little space left. We stayed in room 212 which has a window looking out to the back. Free WiFi (not very fast but good enough to read mails and browse on-line news); provided 2 small bottles of drinking water but no kettle, no in-room safe, no fridge and no hair dryer. Bathroom is big in comparison to the room size. There's shower with curtains, a WC and wash basin. Shower gel is provided through a dispenser. For folks who don't want to get their hair wet, do bring your own shower cap. The bathroom could do with a slightly brighter lighting. Aircon blower is pointed directly to the bed. Flooring is tiled and clean - no slippers provided. Room came with free breakfast for 2. Nothing to write home about - fried rice, fried noodles, egg cooked in sambal, fried sausages, bread with margarine and jam, bananas, juice in big dispensers, coffee and tea. I took a sip of the coffee and decided to stick to plain water. Poor selection could be due to the fact that it is the month of Ramadan.

Will we return to this hotel? Probably not. Though the hotel is clean and well located, we find the sleep quality to be very bad. The mattress is soft (can feel the springs) and so is the pillow. The aircon blower and the compressor are noisy. All in all, did not have a good sleep.

We have stayed there for one night during our trip from Penang to Langkawi. Quadruple room was very spacious and clean in reasonable price. Breakfast in asian style not for european children, but chef has proposed eggs for us. Maybe staff could be mo*-re polite, but overall - 4.

We were in Butterworth for a wedding in 2009. At the time of stay this hotel was newly renovated and just changed management. It was pretty new and tidy.
For this area it is a pretty decent hotel with no frills .Mainly cater for locals on business trips or leisure.
Breakfast buffet were pretty decent nothing fancy. We had dinner once at the hotel prepared by an enthusiastic Indian chef which were quite good I must say. Maybe it was still new and all.
Free wifi only at the lobby.
Premises around hotel rather boring and nothing to look forward to. Next door is a sleazy Karoke bar.
Not too far from the main Ferry terminal and main bus terminal to countries across Malaysia and Thailand .
To walk to hotel it might take 10-15 min and for a 5 mins ride with a taxi cost us RM10! what a rip off!
From the hotel you can see the only the tall building Komtar across the water the heart of Georgetown. Slow ferry ride will take you at least 20min but it's a nice way to see Penang .

I stayed here for 2 weeks on a business trip. The staff co-operated well when I requested to take prints for my business documnets from their printer. When I told the chef that I am vegetarian & dont have anything for me in the restaurant's dinner menu. He specially prepared jeera rice for me. Morning breakfast contained continental with malaysian food.

We attended a wedding at the Masjid Jamid Telaga Air Mosque and stayed for one night on 21 Sept 14. It cost us RM 119/- a Deluxe Room , with b/f.

ROOM : The room is newly renovated adequate. Toilet with shower is clean and the aircon ok. The lift is working well.
CONTRA : 1) No fridge in the room. 2) B/F very meagre and no eggs . 3) Sent 2 emails to book but they did not reply.
SERVICE : The service is good and I wish to thank one staff named Lina who helped to reserve the room via phone. Most of the staff are Muslim . Later found out that the hotel belongs to the famous PELITA Nasi Kandar. url : http://www.pelita.com.my/p_contact.html .

TRANSPORT : Hotel is located about 2-3 kkm from Butterworth Express Bus Terminal. It is near the Butterworth Jetty and KTM Railway Station. We took the KKKL night bus ( 10 pm to 7 am ) from JB Larkin Terminal. The taxi kiosk is just across and it cost only RM 10/- to go to the Hotel.
The taxi driver later told me that it would cost RM 15/- if we call the taxi for the return trip. Book your return ticket upon arrival. Buy from the manned counter. There are many agents/touts wearing bus company T shirts loitering Avoid them. I recommend you go to KBS booth No 9. Bus bay No 1 is nearby. There are buses going to KL ( Jln Duta, Pudu Sentral and TBS) or JB/Larkin.

FOOD : At Butterworth, we crossed over to food centre and had a good breakfast. The corner muslim auntie stall sells nasi lemak with various dishes as add ons, fried mee and coffee/tea. cheap. Quite cheap. Later, I go for 2 pcs of roti canai ( prata ) for RM 2/- only. Try the local black coffee.
TAKE HOME : Try the delicious jeruk ( pickled fruits ).Pak Ali's products is slight higher but less acidic. The shop across ticket booth NO 9 ( KBS ) is easy to find everything including keropok.
