We stayed at Aroma hotel for 3 nights during our visit to family in Butterworth. Aroma hotel is situated in BBCC (Butterworth Business City Centre) in the area of Raja Uda. Raja Uda is famous for its eatery street and always crowded with locals. The hotel was surrounded by cafes, milktea shops, restaurants, bars and a convenient shop. However, most of shops were opened after 12 noon except Starbucks. There were plenty of free indoor and outdoor parking spaces. Our check in and check out were smooth. Our room located on the 7th floor was spacious and facing the shops. It could be a little noisy during the night because most of the shops opened until 1am. Our bed was s bit hard and the bathroom was average in size. There was no breakfast provided in the hotel. You can either grab something light to eat from nearby Starbucks or dine at Kopitiam (coffee shop) which served hawker food. The hotel is situated about 15 mins drive to Penang Sentral (Ferry terminal/Train station/bus station).

The hotel is located like 15 mins drive from the bus station / jetty terminal and on the other side of the island (less happening place) so cheaper. The area around is full of restaurants and eating joints. The stall is very helpful and you fell the hotel is an old property so are the aminities. Not bad option if you are looking at a decent cheaper option to stay.

I really enjoyed stay in the this hotel. Special thanks for reception staff Hema and Naiker who with excellent customer service skills. Hema is a gem for this hotel. Just another comment, the management should not charge for extra towels, even there is only limited amenities. So management pls upgrade your level.

This hotel is located on a very large block similar to a car park and is surrounded by restaurants and a couple of small variety shops .The restaurants only open at night and the noise goes on until the early hours of the morning and are very popular with the locals . The staff at the hotel are friendly and this is where it stops . the main room is quite large but dark and there is an airconditioner and ceiling fan and you will need both on to keep you warm . the hotel does not supply face washers or hand towels . The bathroom is so small and fits one person only at a time . The shower is in the bath which is sealed with mould ridden silicone . There is no hot water supply to the basin . Also the hotel does not have a restaurant and therefore no breakfast supplied .Do not take any notice of the reviews on this hotel as they are mainly from locals . WE booke for 2 night and stayed for one night only and headed back to KL .

Just an average hotel. Location is convenient with eating places, bars, minimart and massage within walking distance. However the rooms facing the bars can hear music all night till they close at 3-4am so it can be noisy for light sleepers. Wifi is weak, can’t surf internet at all. Water pressure is strong with heater.

the management neglected the basic requirements of a decent hotel - cleanliness. The pillows were full of smell of hair oils, the blanket were full of smell of sweating and the bed sheets has unknown spots that made you feel itchy. We requested to change for another room and the staff willingly fulfilled our wish. But, the same ugly song continued : smelly pillows, smelly blankets... We couldn't slept but woke up to made Nestcaffe and chatted till sunrise.
