Staying in Bardia was a highlight of the trip and Racy Shade was great. The accommodation was based on the local homes and certainly added to the experience. Food was fantastic, dining was in a large open area at the one big table, a lovely experience. Tours into the jungle, rafting down the river, elephant ride, and jeep safari were...

A remarkable place on the edge of Bardia National Park. The rooms are spotless, rustic but comfortable. The staff do everything possible to make your stay a memorable one. Food is delicious. The guides work hard to show you the wonders of the park. We hope to be able to come back some time and highly recommend the place.

I stayed here for 11 days photographing in the National Park, and the village, and I had a great time. I was here in May, which is one of the best times for viewing the wildlife, as they can be more easily found in/near the water, since it's so hot. (And it really is hot! It was around 40 degrees...

The only thing that wasn't great was the heat but without it we probably wouldn't have seen two tigers in two days! The guides are fantastic at tracking the animals and letting you see them up close! Never thought i could see a tiger or rhino on foot! The rooms are simple but you spend most of your day in...

Racy Shade Resort is a eco friendly place with individual cottages built to resemble Tharu (local people) homes. Its owners - Shreedhar, Kiran and Chris - run this unique place. They are 'hands on' and every detail was supervised by them during my stay. The crew/staff are very friendly and make you feel at home. My vegetarian meals were very...

We had a wonderful time here. The staff could not have been nicer. We did a 3d/2n compact package which included a walking tour of the area, a combination jeep/rafting/hiking 12 hour day tours, and finally a 2 hour elephant safari tour. If you go on the elephant tour, be sure to ask for a shelf to set your feet...

Stayed at Racy's Shade for 3 nights. The hotel itself is small but very peaceful and in the middle of the local community and it's fields. The staff is very friendly and truely aims to give the visitors a good time. The food is very good and non-standard. We did a walking and jeep sadfari with very knowledgable guides and...
