I stayed at the cheapest room at B150/night. This seems to be the standard rate in the area. It's located along the Mekong River which is great but a few blocks away from the market. The room is dirty and neglected - dead roaches on the floor, cobwebs, very thick dust on the electric fan. I'm not looking for great...

Welcome by three high alert dogs. A budget option to us for a spacious double fan room in central location, powerful fan, well-protected mosquito nets, self flushing toilet, good wifi and nice owner (turned on from 3 pm). A bit dusty floor. Stayed there 3 nights. Had a discount. Luckily, we joined the last day of Songkang festival party and...

We have stayed here only for one night, wanted to stay longer but the room was so depressing we left after one night. There are a bunch of different rooms to choose from, we stayed in a fan room for 300 thb a night. The room was big, that was the only positive point. On the floor there was a...

First, I did not actually stay there. I went there to see the rooms, and decided not to stay, not because of the rooms, but because of the reception. First, I was "greeted" by two dogs barking viciously. Could not enter reception area, but it smelled like dirty dogs, so I did not want to, anyway. The lady came around,...

I stayed there for 1 night, and apparently we got the worst room (because afterwards we got to see from a window the interior of another room). Ours was old, the walls seemed full of dust and humidity. Towels seemed also really old and spotted. Bed was ok and sheets were clean. The owner at first seemed a little grumpy...

We stayed for 1 night, after 2 months travelling in Thailand. I loved the tiles in the room, they make it look very friendly and somehow special. The room was very clean, and that is all I expect for the price of 300 Baht for a double room. Our room was situated at the main road and not 100% quiet,...

Our room was ok, clean but our the outside balcony was best with comfortable seating overlooking the Mekong and the night food market, so we didnt have to go far for more great Thai food. Try the stall with the flashinf blue light. The owner was definitely tired of her business but she was helpful. Our room was upstairs and...

The location is perfect! The rooms are nice and spacious and the lady who runs the hotel is absolutely wonderful (when I accidentally left my camera in a taxi she went to great effort to help me get it back. I can not thank her enough) The room prices are very fair for the location and room quality. In the...

Some people should not be in the hospitality business. The owner of the Chiang Saen Guest House is one of them. She really didn't seem to care if we stayed there or not, and once we did, her main concern was getting paid. There was never a smile, words of welcome or offers of help. In fact, we were lucky...

“The rooms are clean. The outside is a mess. Our room, with a view of the Mekong, is the only one worth having. If it's taken, move on.”
