We have stayed at Ucum because of the affordable price! 240pesos for privat room with bathroom. No ac, no tv. Just with the fan. Bathroom was a bit nasty and unclean:/ There was a nice chilled swimmingpool, perfect for super hot days! I can recommand it only if you are looking for something cheap;)

This place is nasty and outright disgraceful. The pool is dirty that they have to use tons of chlorine. A friend of mine was robbed of all her belongings and there were no signs of forced entry. The cleaning staff literally cleaned up!!

If you're looking for a bare bones hotel in Chetumal, this is your best bet. Our room was secure with beds and an in room bathroom. They provided clean sheets and clean towels. The restraint downstairs is pretty good, and the women who work there are very accommodating when it comes to diet (we are both vegetarians). There's also a...

If you're passing through Chetumal to or from Belize, Hotel Ucum is a great place to sleep. You can't beat the price (you won't have to bargain, which is also a plus if you don't have great Spanish, their restaurant is cheap and fine, and it's around the corner from the Mayan museum which is the city's main attraction. The...

No one will go to Chetumal for travel. Usually overnight on the way from/to Belize. Hotel Ucum is right for that purpose: cheap(P240 with a bath) and safe. Clean and spacious though spartan. Wifi was tricky: could not connect though the signal was there. It is centrally located just a few steps from a Market and the Museum of Maya...

Hotel was ok, rooms were clean but we had to ask for towels several times, when we got them they were torn and old. They had a pool which was a plus but their bathroom out dated. For one night ok but not longer

I have been staying here when I am in Chetumal for about 8 years. It's not fancy but it is centrally located by the museum, has courtyard parking, it's clean and isn't expensive. It is now painted a nasty dark green which makes it not very attractive. There is a pool but have never seen anybody in it. It's one...

The worst hotel I stayed in during a six week trip to Mexico. Rooms are big and clean enough but look like prison cells, swimming pool, just really depressing. I would not recommend it all ....courtyard is horrible, staff miserable, wifi terrible.

We arrived late without much local currency. They would not take dollars from belize, so they said we could pay them in the morning. That was very good of the front desk to do that. Very decent and trusting. We ran to a cash machine and paid an hour later with pesos. A major plus to them for that. The...
