I stayed in a bungalow for 3 nights and loved it. I was traveling alone but met up with new friends when dining at Aly's Restaurant, as part of the included dinner. The bungalow was bare bones and just what I needed. Full size bed, fan, private bathroom with hot shower, safe, and a bug net. The surf camp is... More

It is exactly what it says - a surfcamp - not a 5 star hotel. I was looking for accommodations that were relatively inexpensive yet clean, quiet and comfortable. This place fit the bill! I had a bungalow which is very rustic but clean and comfortable. There were 2 twin beds, a private bathroom with hot shower and commode, a... More

It's true that Ali's isn't for everyone. We thought it was pretty awesome. We stayed for 3 weeks, with no prior reservation during high tourist season (so we paid by the day prices, but a flat rate). They were very accommodating, moving our stuff for us as we jumped between available rooms. We got to see 4 of the different... More

This is a camp, as it name says so. It offers basic accommodation, nice and clean. It has a Swamp, the restaurant is nice and rustic. Wi Fi is available. Loved the breakfast, with the do it yourself orange juice, the jelly was pretty good also. At night you can hear a concert of frogs. At the entrance there's only... More

Great value for the $$. Nice equipment to rent, loads of cool people around to meet. Organized surf trips every morning when there's waves. Free/cheap food around, well located, and nice! Mosquitoes were present for sure, but nearly as bad as I had feared from reading reviews. Also, the place is run by (and also heavily visited by) Germans, so... More

I am a single female traveller and stayed at Ali's for 3 weeks. Yes, it is a walk to the beach, but I enjoyed that because it's tucked away on a quiet street. The good was amazing. Great variety on the menu and big portions. The staff becomes like family. Lots of international travelers from everywhere. The break at Encuentro... More

This is an excellent little hotel for staying in Cabarete for a few days. We had a three day trip, with three surf lessons for a very reasonable price. The rooms are simple and clean and they're really all you need. It's not a resort, so expect more hostel-like accommodations, but at the price they are more than adequate. We... More

This place is good for people who don't want something luxurious. If you are not an adventurer, or don't like animals, don't go there. There's about 6 dogs on the site, who seems to be the proprio dogs. They are very nice and not bad ROOMS For the room, the cheapest room are the Cottage ... that ok if you... More
