A dream realized by Italian fashion designer, Piergiorgio, this white clapboard inn has a wrap-around verandah adorned with ornamental gingerbread, characteristic of Sosua's glory days in the Victorian era. The front entrance replicates a gazebo and faces a dramatic marble staircase that ascends to the third-floor, Italianate penthouses with expansive sundecks.

This is a really unique property. Accepted some reviews focus on maintenance issues. I find this a harsh assessment. Accepted there are rough edges however I see every sign they are investing in maintenance and overall I had no issues. The hotel is walkable from town yet on the quite clifftop (aside from crashing waves). Staff were great, free parking (Sosua has parking challenges). The two pools are spotlessly clean and maintained and the aspect of the property on the cliffs is awesome. I suspect I was given a lesser appealing room (land not sea facing), however I had only paid $29 B&B via a well known BOOKINGS website and the room was just fine, not up-to-date modern however large with good A/C and hot (warm) water. Very happy

“Many people are quick to point out problems however less frequently praise positive experiences when they are worthy of mentioning. As a long-standing tenant here now for a year at the Piergiorgio Palace Hotel last month my wife and I encountered some unexpected infrastructural issues in our rental unit however the PPH team attended to remedying them expeditiously and with the highest quality workmanship. Far more than an inspiring place for a weekend getaway, wedding, or special life event, the PPH is an ideal selection for a long-term stay. Not your typical resort hotel, in addition to unparalleled sunset views and the rhythmic sound of crashing waves, the hotel is steeped in history from back in the 1930’s where one of the original homestead‘s are located right here on the property. The hotel staff is responsive and friendly with a great restaurant on-site. Here you will find the authentic vibe of being welcomed into a Dominican “familia”. The PPH will not disappoint and the memories made here will last a lifetime”

This hotel in Sosua has the best location for overlooking Sousa beach. Watching the crashing waves is amazing. The hotel has charm, history and class in its day. Its is a bit tired but Claudio and his staff is working hard to make it better every day. Fabiola, the receptionist ,speaks good English and is there to offer her assistance to any question or concerns. The on site restaurant is reasonable and the drinks are affordable. The staircase is gorgeous, and if you are on the upper floors, beware, there is no elevator. Think of it as being a free day from the gym. The location of this place is fantastic. It is close to downtown, yet far enough from the hussle and bustle of that you dont see or hear anything. The property hosts 2 pools and are kept clean daily. There is little to no shade so mornings and late afternoon is the best time for swimming. Management is aware of the need for shade umbrellas. We enjoyed our time here and would definitely book to stay again.

My partner and I had a great stay at the Piergiorgio Hotel in Sosua. The staff and the location were perfect for us and we would definately return. The hotel is family run and they really made an effort to make us feel welcome, and at home. The food including breakfast is fabulous and well priced and the views and location were stunning.

The Sea view of the hotel, the location of the property and courtesy of its staff is excellent. The property is old and needs to be upgraded. Cleanliness outside could also be better. The description on the website is not exactly what you will experience at the property. You might have one item and not the other. There are no irons, coffee makers etc. You could have the AC working and not the TV. The staff and the views kind of help overcome it though.

Outstanding location with beautiful views, regrettably they re-opened without being ready: we had no running water, the door to the room did not lock; after an hour the management advised that we had 30 minutes to take a shower, because the water pump had to be repaired; finally we had no electricity, so I decided to check out; the front desk was very friendly and gave me a full refund. Could be a wonderful place because of it's unique location.

Evidently hard hit by Hurricane Maria, there is tape across the entry driveway with ‘cerrado’ closed in Spanish. Not sure why it is still included in TA listings as locals tell us it has been closed fir months and is seeking investors to rebuild and reopen, maybe someday.

We have visited this beautiful old jewel of the Caribbean in other occasions and have been more than willing to accept its need for renovation. But this last trip was too much. The hotel is still a beautiful blast from the past and the restaurant is as excellent as ever, but the management of the registration was terrible and the many of the staff were frequently complaining about the management. First, Booking.com got the dates wrong and wouldn't change them without charging me twice. They then wrote me and said the manager would credit my bill for the mistake. Then the Hotel Manager and Booking.com each blamed the other and I never did get a refund for the double charge. I still recommend the hotel but don't use Booking.com and be prepared for grumbling staff. .

We stopped at this place on our final days in the Republic. Could not believe it! A trip to a very luxurious past! The views are formidable, right above the ocean (I mean it!) The hotel is clean, quiet and reasonably priced. Luisa and Alberto (front desk) were friendly and helpful, Agustin at the bar and Enrique at the Restaurant were fantastic (everybody was and there were too many to mention) Jose in Maintenance and front desk also helped a lot. The rooms are a bit outdated but clean and comfortable, with A/C, wi-fi, good water pressure, small fridge and great balcony. Nice swimming pools and after I mentioned that the water was a bit cloudy next morning they were clearing them! The place is obviously well manage by a polite and welcoming French man, who, I apologize, I failed to ask his name! Definately a place that I would seriously consider to stay in if we return to Sosua. Great way to end our Holiday!!!!! Remodeling (eg: new sign at the front, colors in bathroom, flushing system in toilets) although possibly expensive should be by the owners considered) This magnificent jewel of the past deserves it!!!!

The place is on a cliff, a bit isolated but in a nice way. The restaurant area had a great view and sunsets from there are pretty charming and romantic. Great mattress in the room, hard and stable, awesome to sleep on in. Bathrooms is spacious as well as the room. In spite of its position and style, the place is rundown, it really needs a lot of work. What you see in the pictures is misleading: it's not such a white paradise... rust everywhere, roofs needing maintenance, pool with cloudy water (god knows when it has been cleaned last), balconies with cracks in the wood, restaurant area old and tattered, stage area falling apart... There is a balcony in the room which would be amazing if it weren't for the fact that it's mostly dirty and rusty, with bird droppings on most of the handrail. No direct access to the beach, you need to walk down to either Sosùa or Alicia for around 5-10 minutes. Aircon controls are very old, not really ideal in this day and age. TV is pretty old as well, though I wouldn't normally use it anyway, yet again can't believe they still put those big boxes in the rooms. Electricity plugs are falling apart as well, definitely not safe. This said, don't expect much from Sosùa... there are better places to go.
