My wife and I stayed at this resort for our wedding anniversary and it exceeded our expectations in every way! I liaised with the hotel to arrange a transfer on our arrival at the airport and on arriving at the hotel, there was a simple and very quick check in where we were informed that our room had been upgraded for free! When arriving to our room, the bed had been set up with a beautiful happy anniversary display, along with a free bottle of bubbles! The location of the hotel is great if you're looking for a quiet getaway with a gorgeous beach directly in front of the resort and it's about 15 minutes by bike or taxi to Ao Nang Beach. We rented a bike for THB200 a day from outside the resort. The things that matter! The room was very clean on arrival and was cleaned every day with new towels provided. We had originally reserved a Sala Villa Upper Garden View but had been upgraded to a Sala Villa Upper Sea View, room 2202 which arguably had one of the best views of the bay! The room had separate 'his and hers' sinks and a separate shower and bath. The bed was big and very comfortable with good quality linens. The breakfast was quite comprehensive, separate egg station, cold cuts, cereal, various breads and baked goods, usually 3-4 Thai dishes with rice, noodles, bacon, beans, hash browns, as much tea and coffee brought to your table as you like, all while sat next to the beach! We stayed in June which we understood was the start of the quiet season so there weren't so many guests there, but the resort was always very quiet, beautiful big warm clean pool, never an issue getting a sun lounger. Also buy-one-free-one cocktails 5:30 - 6:30 as well as there being a few super chill awesome beach bars along the beach to the left of the property as you're going out onto the beach. All in all, this was way up there in places we have stayed and honestly could not get enough of it!

The hotel is worn out and run down. Owner doesn’t take care of the property. Stayed in the jacuzzi villa. Room looks tired, hot water not running, garden around the hotel not well kept, and many cracks on the wall and flooring all over the resort. The only good thing about the hotel is the staff and the restaurant serve delicious Thai food. This hotel really need a major refurbishment.

My partner and I spent a couple of days in Krabi and chose to stay at the Nakamanda Resort. A big deciding factor for me when booking accommodation is that we stay at a place that is recognised for being Travel Sustainable. I was very disappointed that although the below is stipulated, a lot was not put into practice. Sadly quite a lot of litter on the beach which seemed to be semi-cleaned regularly but the litter was then dumped at the top of the beach. Recycling bins available to guests and waste is recycled - no recycling bins in the rooms Single-use plastic miniature shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles not used - small travel size toiletries some wrapped in plastic were supplied daily. Single-use plastic water bottles not used - endless supply of plastic water bottles supplied each day Water-efficient toilets - the toilets didn't seem to be water efficient Water-efficient showers - didn't seem to be water efficient Option to reuse towels - although we left our towles hanging they were still changed. Besides feeling very disappointed about this, we really enjoyed staying at Nakamanda. The staff were exceptional, always friendly, accommodating and lovely energy. The layout of the resort is lovely. We asked if we could be moved to a room with a view when one became avaulable which they happily arranged for us. I would still recommend this resort but hope that going forward they put more effort into sustainability.

Sadly, just finished our seven day stay at the fantastic Nakamanda Resort & Spa. We had an unbelievable stay at this beautiful resort. The friendly staff, beautiful grounds and probably the best beach location, along with outstanding quality of food and beverage makes me want to come back. We've stayed at several high quality resorts in the past around the world. This resort is among the top places we've been. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, look no other than Nakamanda Resort.

We travelled to this resort in April 2023 for 5 nights as a family. I was really looking forward to this as the reviews and hotel looked great! I am going to give a very honest account as to why I am only giving this a 3 star review. You will find a more comprehensive review on my blog site. I will begin with the positives: Rooms: We arrived in the afternoon and had booked two upper sala rooms requesting them to be next to eachother, which they were. Unfortunately sea view had been unavailable. I must say the rooms were lovely! Equipped with all amenities from bottles of water, bathroom supplies, beach bags provided as well as slippers, robes and hard soled sandals too. There is also coffee machine/tea. The upper sala rooms have a gorgeous skylight over the bath, which is not present in the lower sala rooms. Food (initial impression): After freshening up we headed down to Naga terrace restaurant, and ordered a selection of starters. I must say everything was delicious! Deep fried chicken wings, veg tempura, wrapped shrimp with noodle. We were so impressed and were now looking forward to a buffet breakfast spread the next morning (as stated on their website). Beach: Stunning beach, the view of the beach from any angle is just gorgeous. I did read a few mixed reviews before booking, but I had no issues at all. The tide does come in – times of this noted at the towel stand. When the tide is out, yes you can see rocks, but just walk further into the sea, and honestly its soo lovely! Warm ocean like bath water and soft sand. The water is quite clear, there was no seaweed, and no sight of any jelly fish on our trip either. You can walk quite far out and it was still only up to our knees. I would most definitely visit this beach again. Immediately past some small rocks there is the Beyond Krabi resort and beach is gorgeous too, soft white sand (but the sea there has more waves). Nakamanda is in a cove so the water is ever so gentle and calm! I loved it. You cannot however, sunbathe on the beach but there are sunbeds etc are instead on the resort just above the ocean, and I found this completely fine (it just comes down to personal preference). Resort Layout: Beautiful layout, everywhere you walk you are surrounded my plants, trees and nature, it really does make it a lovely experience. There are a lot of steps, which can get annoying if you are walking to the lobby a lot, so instead if you go to the towel stand, there is a pathway on the right side, you can walk up there and come straight up to the road (Nakamanda entrance will be on your right) – but I found this a much quicker and easier way to the lobby/road (access to other restaurants etc). We didn’t visit the spa, but did have a peek and this looked fine. The resort overall is clean, beautiful and well kept. Pool: The pool is lovely, warm and comfortable temperature. Close to the sea, so like an infinity pool layout. Service is wonderful, and someone always cleans away towels and brings you water. There is a smaller bit for kids too. It is well kept, and cleaned daily. Excursions: no need to travel to Ao Nang to take excursions, there are many boats leaving from the hotel beach area. We just approached someone and booked a private boat tour. We didn’t ask for the any of the tours you see advertised. Instead we planned our own island stops for the day. It ended at Hong island and the lagoon - stunning (full review on this too) Nearby: Lots of restaurants when you exit the resort and turn left, all within walking distance. If you walk about 800m right instead, close to the Dusit then there are lots of restaurants there too! So a great variety of places to eat, and food was great, just check reviews! Andalay Beach café was great for afternoon snacks and drinks, Mother House was lovely, we also tried The Beach House, and Baan Tha Ley Café. All had great food, and I’ve done separate reviews on each of these. Concerns/Issues : 1st morning – breakfast : There is NO buffet breakfast. The breakfast room had some carton juice in the dispensers (I verbally confirmed it wasn’t freshly squeezed juice!!) and some cereal, fruit and yoghurt, croissants laid out. That was it!! The rest of the room was empty and covered up with sheets. I asked where the breakfast is, they said they don’t do any buffet, and if we wanted anything then we could walk up to them and ask. So I asked for a menu, and they said there isn’t one!!! I had remembered seeing a room service menu for breakfast, after insisting on a menu, the staff eventually brought one out, which included fresh juice options (it was the same as the room menu). Despite the menu offering hash browns, the staff still had to check if they were available. I confirmed that the hotel website did in fact state 'buffet breakfast', so contacted the agent - Trip.com, and explained my issue. The hotel management offered an apology and suggested a room upgrade as compensation. We were taken to see the pool villa to see if we would like to move here for the remainder of our stay (4 nights). The villa was stunning, it had four buildings - two large bedrooms, a living area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a pool and jacuzzi with ocean views. The manager promised to ensure that we would be well looked after for the remainder of our stay. 2nd morning : There was definitely special treatment given, the buffet room empty. Chef came out and greeted us and brought us plates of fruit etc. and a plate of tempura without us even asking. He said we could order anything we liked from the menu. Third day – this is where things became interesting. Egg station was open with French toast and pancakes being made too! There was even one side of the buffet open with bacon, sausages etc. I did try the pancakes and unfortunately, I don’t think they know quite how to cook these are they were soggy on the inside! 4th day – wow today there was even dumplings and the buffet. 5th and last morning – FULL BUFFET OPEN, with Thai food and curries! Both sides of the buffet were fully open, egg station still open (like the previous few days) AND they had another area outside making THAI pancakes with choice of toppings! Last note : The BBQ and live music night was overpriced and not worth the money. The jumbo prawns were £10 each, and the fish was small. We did complain and received a discount, but I advise not to waste your money as can find better value elsewhere. Please go across to my blog to see a fully comprehensive review for this hotel which goes more in depth.

Beautiful hotel , lovely gardens , well cared for villas , stunning little bay . The staff were all lovely , kind and always helpful . The villas were designed for comfortable easy living . Spacious indoor and outdoor seating , lovely comfortable beds , great bathroom area , twin sinks , shower and full bath . A/ C was great - outdoor area with view , ceiling fan and electric sockets . The large Pool area was always well maintained and the staff really looked after us . We did a 3 Island boat trip from the which was great - scooter hire from across the street, lots to explore . Plenty of small shops and excellent family run restaurants . Would love to return one day .

This is a lovely hotel. It is not UAE 5 star amazing - it is very slightly shabby around the edges but that is not a criticism - just an observation. Service is fine - efficient but not over bearing. The poolside restaurant is lovely but needs to make more effort to encourage use at lunch and evening times! The pool villa has amazing views but in reflection is far far too big for just two people!

We had such a relaxing, laid back stay here (very welcome after our travels around Thailand). Our bungalow was very comfortable and all the staff were so friendly and helpful - especially the restaurant staff (including the chef who was always keen to chat to his diners). The pool was very refreshing (cooler than the warm sea) and a good size for swimming. Yes there are lots of steps but they didn't bother us - in fact they provided about the only exercise we took during our stay! The resort is right beside a lovely natural beach which was largely deserted while we were there. We often had lunch at the pleasant beach bar just along the beach (to the right). We went on a superb boat trip to the local islands (great for snorkelling) which the hotel booked for us. What we enjoyed most about our stay at the Nakamanda was watching the sun go down over the sea while dining at the outdoor restaurant each evening.
