The food was a bit hit and miss. We found a restaurant across the road was a much better option (Royal Tandoor) which was exceptional. The breakfast selection was good, particularly the omelette station.
I'd also recommend hiring a scooter from across the road. All scooters are brand new, regularly undergo maintenance, are very affordable. The business is extremely professional and reliable! The name of this company is The White Orchid!
The staff at the resort were very helpful, accomodating and extremely friendly. They are all an asset to the hotel and we could not fault them! They definitely made our experience even better.
I would recommend staying here as it is in a good location and is still a overall good resort. It just needs some touch ups to bring it back to the 5 stars it once was.
We discovered The Nakamanda thanks to the suggestion of a friend living in Thailand, and thus decided to spend a couple of weeks in the Krabi region.
Located on the beautiful beaches of Klong Muang, The Nakamanda offers an unforgettable experience
Only. Just 30 minutes from Krabi International Airport,
this Small Luxury overlooks the Andaman sea with
the magnificent pristine islets.
Only 35 villas / bungalows surrounded by palm trees and tropical garden descending gently till the sea.
The rooms are finely furnished, very spacious ( 50 square metres ) and perfectly
clean (2 times a day). Each bungalow has it's terrace.
The swimming pool is large and pleasant, located by the beach.
Nakamanda also has an excellent restaurant with Thai cuisine and some western dishes
Excellent breakfast included in the price.
Impeccable service. Excellent Wifi.
Wonderful holiday ! We will definitely come back.
Last but not least, the SPA and the fabulous massages.
An affectionate thanks to all the staff for the great courtesy in making every single moment of our stay unforgettable

We travel the world quite a lot and if I had to pick one hotel to stay in this would be it. There are more architecturally superb and feature packed hotels out there but very few that embrace the natural beauty of their surroundings so well and Krabi is beautiful. The place blends seamlessly into its surroundings and leads naturally to the sea and it’s quiet little bay.
You see the long tail boats come and go, a few local fishermen hand netting for small fish and generally watch the world go by. The contrast between high and low tide is stark meaning you never get bored. There is a more traditional sandy beach a few steps round the corner.
The staff are caring and many have become extended family to us over the years. The restaurant has a setting which makes you keep pinching yourself and we have eaten well. Thai food is the best option, a yellow prawn coconut based curry and a whole fish in garlic and black pepper were stand out dishes this trip. Neither were overly spicy.
The rooms are spacious and feature outside sitting areas or salas very much like a thai house would. Housekeeping worked really well this trip to clean the room when were out maybe having breakfast or on our travels.
There are some bars and restaurants within walking distance, either via the beach or the road. The Andalay beach bar round to the left as you walk out onto the beach would be a recommendation, some interesting tree houses to chill out in. That said we always rent a car to go off exploring.
Price is a very personal thing but the Nakamanda resort bridges international hotel and local pricing meaning you never feel uncomfortable. It has a lovely boutique vibe and you definitely feel the envy of anyone walking along the beach wishing they’d chosen more wisely.
During the covid lockdown it’s nice to see the resort has invested in several areas seeking to improve the property which meant that as regulars it still felt fresh. We will definitely return.
Staff overall was super friendly and nice, our only down side was the restaurant with limited choices and extremely slow service although at times we were the only ones there. (Not too mention getting a simple glass of wine at sunset while being absolutely the only one there). There are however other restaurants options within walking distance either right or left by the beach.
Not an actual 5 stars though but still a delightful experience.
The resort has a beautiful pool and sitting area.
The food was excellent and the chef takes personal care. Ms. Por, the director of sales takes extra care and efforts to make everything go perfect.
Looking forward to visit it again sometimes soon.
Situated on the beach and a quick 5 mins walk in either direction brings you to many more food options. The rooms are spacious and clean and incredibly private. Fantastic option for a romantic trip. I can’t say enough good things about my stay here. Would recommend it 100%.
The resort is right beside a lovely natural beach which was largely deserted while we were there. We often had lunch at the pleasant beach bar just along the beach (to the right).
We went on a superb boat trip to the local islands (great for snorkelling) which the hotel booked for us.
What we enjoyed most about our stay at the Nakamanda was watching the sun go down over the sea while dining at the outdoor restaurant each evening.
The best part of the stay was probably the fact that it was never a problem finding beach loungers, even facing the sea. Even though some pathetic guests still insisted on the "claiming my lounger with a towel before breakfast" system, there were still plenty to go around. The staff didn't actively discourage this habit, but the hotel must have done something right in assessing the mumber of loungers needed. Well done!
The beach isn't quite for swimming, as the tides are quite prevalent here. Still, it was very beautiful, and the pool more than satisfies our swimming needs.
The room was very spacious with a lovely terrace overlooking the ocean, and a huge bathroom.
To get to the pool and the restaurant, guests have to walk quite some stairs. Not a problem for us, but there are no ramps, so it's a fair warning to visitors who can't or won't climb stairs.
All in all a good stay, definitely recommended, a relaxing few days.
