A few quiet nights in a beautiful location with a superb breakfast. I booked two rooms, a Prestige Suite and a Club Millésime (CM) Superior Twin Room. While the former had a full sunshine balcony and a lovely view, the latter did not. Be aware the room sizes include balcony sizes, so they're not as large as you initially think, and depending on the location and room aspect, the pictures are not fully representative of all suites (as with our Prestige). In saying this, the rooms are luxurious and the finishings, refined, however, if you are even a remotely light sleeper, know you will be woken from your slumber at 5am each morning by the very loud call to prayer and singing close by. Regarding the CM, the staff and the early evening canapés are exceptionally good, however we all thought the cocktails were pretty much just juice (we’re not wine or sparkling drinkers, if you are, you will be happy). For the people that go to Krabi to experience all the region has to offer, the other CM benefits do not go far, or for us, unfortunately, they did not, as if you are out in the day on trips, tours, bikes and the beaches, you're unable to make use of them; add to that, the activities are more overpriced than those outside the resort, that even with the 15% you’re still paying more, but if you want the privacy and/or to not have to work out the how and where, you’ll be happy. The spa is very expensive. I get that local untrained beachside massages are vastly different, but there are trained masseurs/masseuses in the area for what’s ultimately a similar experience (lying down while being massaged with oils, scrubs or body wrapped). The food and drink is pricey, but this is how hotels work for guests that stay on resort premises. We had one day with a couple of hours and birthday beverages at the pool bar, and as lovely as it was for a short time, we’re not the type of family to do nothing but sit by a pool. We had one dinner in the White Lotus, on my son’s 30th birthday, and while it was very tasty, it wasn't terribly different to some really great local food finds we found for a quarter of the price elsewhere. Breakfast is superb, definitely in my top five hotel breakfasts. I could write a page about it. We were all too busy eating to take photos to show everyone how remarkable it was. All in all, a luxe resort with absolutely wonderful staff. Will I be back, yes, will it be on my next visit, no, as I’ll likely try a different resort for comparison.

Bonjour Suburbankatness, Sawasdee Kha. Thank you for sharing such a detailed and balanced review of your recent stay at Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort. We truly appreciate the time you took to highlight both the memorable and constructive aspects of your experience. We are delighted to know you enjoyed our luxurious rooms, the refined finishings, and our renowned breakfast—your kind words about it being among your top five hotel breakfasts are truly appreciated. It is wonderful that you celebrated your son’s 30th birthday with us at White Lotus, and we are glad to hear the meal added a special touch to the occasion. We regret that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations, such as the early morning noise and certain Club Millésime offerings. Your comments about the cocktails and pricing of activities and spa treatments are noted, and we will review these to enhance the value and experience for our guests. Thank you for recognizing our team’s efforts and the privacy our resort provides. We are thrilled you would consider staying with us again in the future, and we hope to welcome you back when you return to Krabi to provide an even more exceptional experience. I feel guilty for not writing this review sooner as we had such a wonderful stay at the Sofitel, Krabi. We stayed for 17 nights in October and it was the most relaxing, comfortable time. We were looking to completely unwind and enjoy the atmosphere of the hotel and location, and the Sofitel and environs did that. The hotel location is around 15 minutes drive from the centre of Krabi town - which is a marked contrast to Sofitel resort. Krabi town is more of a 'backpacking' atmosphere, inexpensive shops and cafes, whereas while there is not an abundance of places around the Sofitel, you go there to chill. Outside the hotel we particularly enjoyed Mamas House restaurant and the great beach bars. In the hotel - our room was great - very spacious, excellent quality furniture and fittings even though we had the first price tier. It was very comfortable, serviced twice a day, kept fantastically clean by delightful staff. The breakfasts - well, you start each day with a 'highlight'. There were so many different styles of bread and pastries, all made at the hotel apparently, plus sushi, soup, full English - anything you could dream of, from whichever part of the globe, was there for you to enjoy at breakfast, amazing. The pool was fabulous - we often go to adult-only resorts, so had been a little concerned about the family-friendly aspect - but we did not have to worry as our room was located in quiet, adults-only part of the hotel near to the quiet adults-only part of the pool. Perfect.
The food and service in the restaurants was excellent - Thai, Italian (we even had special surprise Italian dishes made for us personally by the chef), Indian - all good and well presented.
We went on a number of tours during our stay - the best being to an elephant reserve and river raft excursion about 2 -3 hours away, but the hotel organises great trips on speedboats to nearby islands which are fun. The beach is located right next to the hotel - great for watching the sunset. The gym had very good equipment and we had fun after dinner playing table tennis and children's games before heading to the bar (nice wines, though not cheap) to listen to the great singing of the duo - such beautiful voices. All the staff at the Sofitel were very welcoming - we were so touched when they brought us lovely bon voyage and good bye platters for our last breakfast and dinner. They all went 'above and beyond' and we hope to visit again.

A beautiful resort with the utmost hospitality 😊😊😊😊
We snowed in here at short notice after we had bad luck with another hotel. Here you feel absolutely welcome... right at the first stairs you welcome the guest, the check-in very discreetly and without stress. You accompany the guests to the room and then the holiday begins 🏖️🌊🐚☀️
Sooo friendly staff, very accommodating, enough sun loungers by the pool, even by the sea below. I was allowed to celebrate my birthday here and decided on the restaurant “White Lotus” with ind./thai. Kitchen. The team around Sao, Pang, Jah, May, Chef Mock, Denyel and Dee Mee have prepared an unforgettable evening for me... beautifully decorated the table, hand-drawn greeting card and card from the whole restaurant team with personal wishes... where is this still available today...?
And even at the pool bar our waiter Sky, who after two days already remembered our names as well as the room number.
The breakfast buffet - even if there is a lot going on - goes beyond all imagination. There is nothing missing here. 🙌
The Sofitel here is really outstanding in terms of employee management, you can feel that you feel comfortable here when you come into conversation with the employees.
We will definitely come back 🌟🌟🌟
Thank you for this wonderful stay❣️

Huge resort if we take into account the golf course, however the space reserved for customers is average. It's beautiful and somewhat old, colonial style etc... We went on the "all inclusive" system "All inclusive", but it's fake! This is called Full Board. They give you a sheet at the entrance with what we can eat and drink. The rooms, somewhat old, but well cleaned, my double bed was good, but in the other room it was no longer the same.... and to add all this, at around 5:30 in the morning there is Islamic singing.... in other words, wake up a person...without stress. Leisure spaces/around the pool/WCs, etc., are frequently cleaned. Maya /Buffet Restaurant, etc., is only good for breakfast!, because for lunch and dinner the vast majority of customers go to eat elsewhere, in the surrounding area, for cheaper. Therefore, it is weak in terms of gastronomic offerings. At lunch, we sometimes had to eat at the bar/restaurant by the pool, if you want to have a snack, they no longer have it... all inclusive, hell, but we paid right!? Italian restaurant, takes a long time to serve and the air conditioning temperature is low. The employees are generally friendly. Access to the beach is easy, although it's not a big beach, but it works and if you want to go further to the left side, for me it's a better and more beautiful bath. As for the pool, for me it is very good and well maintained. Life in that place/region is simply very safe! We can walk freely day and night without being approached to buy anything. This is good! Otherwise, I recommend visiting the tiger cave temple and climbing up there... if you can handle it... and other places that I can't say but it's actually very beautiful.

Having stayed here over the Christmas / New year period 2023 we can only express our dissappointment in the overall quality of this hotel. It falls well below the usual 5 star hotels we have stayed at over the last 10-15 years and a 3/4 star rating is more realistic. The hotel on arrival is undoubtedly impressive in its style however that's where it ends. The hotel is tired and would benefit from a refurbishment. The rooms are the noisiest I have ever stayed in and feels like staying on the wing of a prison. It feels like there is a door banging competition taking place most evenings between 12-2am. There is clearly a lack of experienced staff at the hotel and the level of customer service here is very poor. Food and drink is low quality and expensive and the breakfast is chaotic with managers clearing tables rather than managing the staff. We ate at the hotel the first evening and that was the last. The large pool is occupied by all day drinkers on the all inclusive. We also noticed as we got in to the pool on one side bare wires exposed in the water, where previously lights had been fitted. We chose to stay at the Dust Thani hotel 1/2 mile away during the daytime for the whole week just returning in the evening to the Sofitel to sleep. The Dusit Thani is a far superior location and is a is worlds apart from the Sofitel in every respect.

Spent four nights here with my family just before NYE. We stayed in a family suite that has a super king bed, and a large bunk bed for the kids, with a balcony overlooking the pool and has a big shower and bath. The room has great luxurious facilities but needs some renovating, as we noticed some peeling paint on the walls and the bathroom door’s veneer was split at the bottom. Bottles of water are provided daily and more can be requested free of charge,.
The lobby is grand and epic - so beautiful and worthy of the Sofitel name. The facilities are amazing, with the highlight being the pool, which is the largest pool in Thailand, and has several spas, a water park for the kids and an inflatable obstacle course. There is a 9 hole golf course which also looks amazing but we didn’t utilise.
There is also a fitness centre and a kids club which were both utilised a lot by us during our stay. The fitness centre has a steam room and sauna for both genders, and new cardio and fitness equipment. There is also a games room, tennis courts, pétanque and an outdoor pool table and table tennis table.
The kids club is just amazing, daily schedule of activities is diverse and my daughter absolutely loved her time with Yui, Noondang and Zand, who went above and beyond to provide her with an incredibly warm and wonderful experience.
The resort is located across the road from Ko Kwang Beach and a resort staff member stops traffic up until around 8pm each night so that you can safely cross. The beach is great for young children as it’s calm and shallow, and you can hire hobie cats and kayaks to explore the bay as well. The resort offers trips to the local islands, and we did a private boat cruise of Maya Bay, Monkey Beach, Phi Phi Island plus a few other spots. We went swimming and snorkelling and did some sightseeing as well, and it was an amazing day!
The food is okay, could be better. The breakfast buffet is fairly decent but gets very busy after 9am so eat early. We had dinner one night in the buffet at Maya and it was very underwhelming; very few choices and not a lot for fussy eaters and definitely not worth the money spent on it. We had lunch at the bar by the pool one day and the waiter who looked after us seemed quite annoyed each time we interacted with him? That being said though, everyone else at the hotel was just amazing.
If you want a resort that offers fantastic facilities for kids, beautiful sunsets and a good point for visiting the beautiful islands that Krabi is known for, this is the place to stay. We will be back!

We arrived after a difficult few weeks and a long flight for a 5 night stay to be warmly greeted by Management and Staff in the beautiful lobby area. I would commend everyone for the efforts made to make guests feel welcome it was a lovely gesture and really appreciated. We loved the stunning architecture of the property, it is in a beautiful location ideal for day trips to the Islands or out into the nearby parks. The swimming pool is huge and spotlessly clean with a large section dedicated adults only. There is still an abundance of pool for families to enjoy as well. It is a large hotel but at the same time feels tranquil and intimate, the decor in the bar and restaurants is very tasteful and we found the food and service fabulous in both the Italian and the Thai/ Indian. It is a great place to either relax and unwind as we did or be very active as there is plenty to do. Thank you everyone for making our stay special we will definitely return and stay longer next time.

I visited with my wife and 2 friends at the end of a trip to Bangkok and kao sok, staying for 7 nights in a swim up club room.
This is a big luxury hotel with all the facilities and for us the added benefit of access to the club lounge. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and special. The room was large and well equipped and the private access to the pool a welcome bonus. We took advantage of the laundry service that we got in a club room with all items returned promptly and packaged up in paper, or on a hanger. The housekeeping was also excellent with individual messages.
Access to the beach and the main road into town was conveniently through the back of the pool area. Breakfast was available in the club lounge but we ate in the main room and i defy anybody to not find something to eat, the choice was extensive (to put it mildly).
The jewel in the crown were the staff, especially in the club lounge, they took customer care to the next level making sure we were comfortable and importantly had our glasses topped up during happy hour.
To put some names in the spotlight Nut in housekeeping Nit and Palmy at breakfast Pure, Deena, Pepsi, Gabbie and Ple in the club lounge
It was also a pleasure to meet Peter Laird the food and beverage director who took the time on a few occasions to talk to us about our experience, following up on our questions (if you are reading this, how's the bread knife)
One slight grumble (but not enough to mark down ), was the lotus garden candle lighting ceremony which proved elusive for a few nights, despite us being on time(or even early) but eventually we were able to mark the visit and remember lost loved ones.
Overall this was a lovely space to finish off a special trip to a magical country, we will be back.

Excellent stay at the Sofitel in Krabi. We had a room with a pool view, the beds were very comfortable. The swimming pool is really huge, the temperature is pleasant. We had breakfast on the terrace and it offers a very large choice of dishes (fruit, sushi, pastries, Indian and Thai dishes, salad buffet, omelettes and so on). I had the opportunity to speak with a French employee on internship here, a certain Rosalie with whom the exchange was very pleasant. The hotel offers two restaurants, a very good Thai and excellent Italian, we also want to thank Coline for her kindness. I recommend this hotel for those who want to come and enjoy the Krabi region while resting in the best possible conditions.

Wow, this hotel is amazing, we had a week's stay and loved every minute. About 20 minute taxi ride to Ao Nang, approx £11. The staff here are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and they are so friendly. Clean pool towels are put out frequently during the day and there is an adults only pool, the water is so warm too. Breakfast has plenty of choice and is slightly different each day with an omelette station with plenty of staff too. The management are walking around at breakfast chatting to guests which is really nice to see, they even helped staff out when needed. The bedrooms are spacious with plenty of sockets, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and fresh bottled water. I will definitely use Sofitel hotels next time if this is the standard. My only negative is the price of the drinks, a little overpriced.

There are a few restaurants just down the road, within walking distance, where one can have lunch.
One can also take a cab or a Grab and go to Ao Nang for dinner.
Following this as we are staying for 2 weeks and booked through love holiday (literally the worst people to book through I have since found out!) they advised we could purchase an all inclusive package locally at a cheap price but the hotel has said this is not true! The hotel charges thb 1000 per adult per day for breakfast! We will be bankrupt by the of the 2 weeks just on breakfast alone! Any advice of where we can save money on breakfast and eating out generally would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
