We stayed at Garden suites, (myself, wife and her mom(91) because at the time we booked paradisus palma real wasn't available. We have stayed at palma real 9x previously and have made many friends over the years. We had a 1st floor swim up which was very nice although showing its age.
The buffet was good (we are vegetarian and always found something to eat). Mom always enjoyed her meals too.
When we got there we were informed that Garden suites was no longer affiliated with paradisus palma real and was part of Falcon resorts. We said that we booked Garden suites (formerly the Reserve at paradisus palma real) so we would have access to the main pool, buffet and paradisus property. They gave us badges so we could. We would get a golf cart from Francisco Williams and his crew who were always very friendly and smiling.
Once we were at the Paradisus we were glad to see the main lobby area was still that same beautiful view through the resort to the ocean. Must admit, not a fan of the property renovation to the area where the wedding gazebo and gardens used to be. The ocean front suites were a nice addition to the "Royal service " building. We had massages at the YHI spa from Gladys Dominguez and Dorka, the best masseuse you could have. The spa area was renovated also which removed the peaceful garden like atmosphere along with the water sounds.
We would spend most of our time at the main pool by the swim up bar. We always meet the nicest people there. Huge shout out to the pool bar staff and the pool concierge, Luis Diaz, Victor Feliz, Jerry, Remi, Mario, Jesus, Teofilo Altagracia, and the others who's name I didn't get. Also a massive shout out to Reynaldo Monegro, the most energetic activities guy that we've known for years. These people go above and beyond to make sure you have the best from your vacation.
And I can't forget Gilberto Mejia at the beach bar, he too is a long time friend. When Mom had her medical emergency while at his bar, he got a cold towel and called for help. ( we didn't get their names but THANK YOU to the lifeguard and medical team that got there quickly and took care of mom). Overall it was another great vacation (9day) at the paradisus palma real. Look forward to our next trip.
Almost forgot to mention Bartolo Jimenez for bringing me back to garden suites to get a few things before mom went to the hospital and Maria Ortiz at the lunchbox (Naos) buffet

our first all-inclusive and was very impressed with the resort especially with the number of properties within the resort itself. The kids pool by the Kidszone was my sons favourite and as well as everything was within walking distance. We were greeted with a very warm welcome by our concierge, Yesica Reyes. She helped us booked all of our dinner reservations in our room and arranged a birthday cake delivered to our room for my husband. She is very sweet and attended to our needs especially when our air condition acted-up as it kept dripping overnight n created a small puddle in our bathroom.
The staff ( Wander Guerrero, Ronny Gomez and Wakanda) always made us feel very welcome and very friendly.
The resort itself is spacious and does not feel like everyone is jammed at one place which we really appreciated it. It was easy to find tables, no long lines at the buffets and cabanas were available without having to reserved.
Room - Master one bedroom suite. The strange part upon entering our room, the sofa was undone as if it was used to watched tv and the room smelled like it hasn’t been occupied for quite sometime. The other thing we found strange was there was no stationary nor an additional phone outside the bedroom. That was not very convenient for us as our child would be sleeping and we had to quietly whisper to order room service in case he wakes up.
Checking out was another story as we requested to extend an hour but was initially told we would be charge. Then they called back to advise us that it would be alright. At the desk when returning the key cards, the staff (lady) was not very friendly which we found quite odd especially when the rest of the other staff have all been very friendly. She was totally opposite of Yesica! she just came across cold and not approachable. we wished we were able to say good but to Yesica but she was off the day we left.
Overall it was a good experience and the beach is beautiful!

The Reserve (Our Home Away From Home)

We recently spent a wonderful week at the Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real. We have visited several Melia resorts and this is by far our favorite. The landscaping is exceptionally beautiful and our swim-up suite allows for private, luxury relaxation, inside or out.

We have been visiting the Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real for over ten years now and what makes the experience particularly delightful is the friendliness and quality of care provided by the staff, some of whom we have known for years.

All the Reserve buffet wait staff were wonderful. Domingo Espinal and Virginia Alvarez, in particular, went out of their way to welcome us.

Our butler, Lewis De La Cruz, was very attentive and conscientious. We requested a case of water and a case of soda water for our room. Lewis didn’t rest until he confirmed that the request was fulfilled.

We spent a good deal of time at the Reserve bar and always received excellent service from the bartenders, Ada De La Cruz, Ronni Gomez, Yohandi Baez, Wander Guerrero and Roello Felix. The freshly blended fruit juice was much appreciated.

My wife visited the spa and couldn’t stop raving about how great the experience was. She would like to thank Ana Melo, the masseuse, and America Rodriguez in reception for their skills and kindness.

The Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real has become our home away from home. We look forward with anticipation to our next visit, which will hopefully be at the end of March 2020!

The Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real has been closed for several months, however, they continue to sell it as if it were still open. We made a reservation months ago for a stay in January 2021. We were nervous to travel during a pandemic, but we decided to trust their website and the measures they were claiming to be taking to keep their guests safe.

Since we were traveling with young kids and wanted to bring extra food and snacks with us, we decided to call the hotel a week before our arrival to find out more about what they had in the room. Thank goodness we called because that is when we were told that we were being “upgraded” to a completely different hotel. Even though that other hotel (the Grand Reserve) was located within their property, this other one is much farther from the beach. We had actually looked at that other hotel prior to finalizing our plans, but we did not like the set up nor the distance from the beach.

We made a reservation that would allow us to be alone with our kids and avoid being in close proximity to other guests while at the hotel. Having stayed at this same hotel several times in the past, we were very strategic with the room that we booked and were willing to pay more to have peace of mind. But they were never going to honor their commitment to us and, when we confronted them about it, they did not own up to it.

We understand that the hospitality industry has had to make certain cuts during this pandemic, but if they had reached out to us in a timely manner and explain the situation, it would have been a different story. I cannot believe that they continue to sell a hotel that is closed indefinitely. This should not be allowed.

Dear YJT, Serve these lines to extend you our sincere appreciation for selecting us as a destination for the enjoyment of your vacation time once again. Please kindly note our properties are continuously adapting to the current situation. This is a common practice among resort chains and due to COVID-19 regulations regarding safety and health. Our different properties in the Punta Cana area are opening in a staggered manner due to covid19 protocols; likewise, following the measures established by our government aiming to secure your wellbeing, hotels are operating at reduced capacity and if necessary, some areas may have to close due to occupancy. As a temporary solution, we are providing a complimentary upgrade to our most luxurious and most recent property, The Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real which is fully operating, offering similar or upgraded suites reserved. This 5-star luxury resort with top shelves amenities, superior quality restaurants, modern and spacious suites, a state-of-the-art spa, and installations, It has a designer tub in the bathroom and a hydromassage tub in the terrace leading to direct access to the pool in addition to a large living area separated with doors for more privacy, we also at The Grand Reserve have Blast, Aqua fun park for everyone to enjoy. Our goal is to offer the best experience possible so you can enjoy your well-deserved vacations at their fullest, we’re confident that our resort’s impeccable service, nature surrounding feel, and our renowned Dominican hospitality that we all know and love, continues to be on the forefront of all our guest’s experience. This trip was our 3rd time to Punta Cana. In 2015 we came with friends and stayed at a different resort and in 2010, my husband and i came to The Reserve for our honeymoon. We loved it here and decided to come back among other options. The resort is beautiful! The grounds are well manicured with variety of beautiful palm trees big and small, colorful flowers and lush plantings. The rooms are very nice, although starting to show some signs of aging. Beautiful style and decor everywhere. The beach is amazing, we didn't see anyone come to bring us drinks like they used to 10 yrs ago. The food was good, but it was great 10 yrs ago. So not sure what changed.
We had our own personal concierge Yesica and she was amazing!!! She was so helpful and friendly and took care of every single need with so much effort and care. Starting with helping with our room choice when we wanted to upgrade and even made extra special arrangements for a Valentines eve, with decorating our room while we were at dinner. It was such a nice surprise! She is the best and cared about every detail through out our stay and really made our stay so much more pleasurable. We would definitely request Yesica the next time we come back. Thank you Yesica, muchas gracias! We miss you already!
Darling was the guys who entertain everyone on resort. He was really great with his unstoppable energy and fun personality. We made great friends.

It’s worth to stay in The Reserve, this hotel is more calm and private than Paradisus Palma Real.
Delicious food, a lot of activities and best staff ever! I’ve room with private garden and jacuzzi, the room was spacious and comfortable. It was the best holidays I’ve ever had.

Activities:
A lot of activities for kids, teenagers and adults. Animator - Wakanda is the best! He can teach you dance, making soap, sushi and all of this with a lot of sense of humour.

Night activities:
Almost every night there were a show for ex. circus show, dancing, singing.
You can also go to casino or dance, every evening DJ plays music.

Pool:
The pools were always clean, in the Reserve I’ve never had the problem to find free place to lay next to the pool on comfortable sunbead.

Staff:
Usually in the morning there were a problem with staff, because sometimes they treat you like you don’t exist, and we have to go for them and ask for a coffe or fork and knife (in the Paradisus Palma Real, in the Reserve the staff is much better).
During the night and evening the best place to sit and drink was the Gabi Club bar in the Reserve. The best bartenders I’ve ever meet are working in this bar! They are always smiling, talks with you and share a positive energy with you, they’ve made my vacation unforgettable!
Especially Wander, he makes the best cocktails but also a lot of thanks for Yohandi, Ronny (and Wakanda) they all make me feel as a part of Dominican Republic family and that’s why I’m sure one day I come back!

Rooms:
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, but need a renovation. In our room the shower was leaking, in our friend room the jacuzzi was floating neighbours living in the room under her.

Food:
In the Reserve there are a small choice of food, but you can always go to Paradisus Palms Real and there are a lot of good and various kinds of cuisine.
The restaurants a la carte also are very nice and tasty (except Vento, the food isn’t good in there). My favourite is “Aqua” (remember to take elegant clothes).
The worst thing for me was waiting for a table (even if you have a reservation sometimes you had to wait over an half our to come inside).

Summing up, if you are looking for unforgettable holidays, with delicious food and good staff, you have to stay at The Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real.

We absolutely love this place! We’ve been to the Paradisus location in Cancun several times and decided to try somewhere different and we were pleasantly surprised ! We traveled with our 4 yr old son and 9 month old son.

The kids club (hours 10am-7pm) and separate babysitting services were top notch and affordable - thanks to all the wonderful staff there namely Jiselle and Carmen ! This allowed us to have a nice mix of family and couple time! They were always excited to see the boys which was meaningful to us.

Special thanks to our concierge Andy C he was wonderful in assisting us with everything we needed especially our unexpected trip the hospital for our baby.
I would strongly recommend asking for him with your family concierge package!!

All the staff here are friendly and kind can’t say enough nice things about them !

Please ask me any questions!

We had a great stay at the hotel. The staff were all very friendly, especially with children. The food is wonderful. A few of the restaurants are as good as you would find in a place like NYC. We had the family concierge service which I would highly recommend. Rubi was our personal concierge and she was fabulous. My children adored her and it made our holiday very relaxing. Rubi took care of all the details for us. She booked golf, restaurants, and sent us the daily activities list. If we had questions or needed anything, we just had to text Rubi and she was there. On some days Rubi would prepare surprises in the room for the children which they loved. If you have a family concierge then you also get access to the waterpark at the Circle resort which is just a few minutes walk away. The waterpark is excellent for children ages 12 and under. We had Rubi babysit a few nights so we could dine without children and they had a great time. My 7 year old daughter told me that she had a great holiday, but that Rubi made it even better. We plan on returning to the hotel next year and would definitely request to have Rubi as our concierge again. We highly recommend her.
In term of amenities, the two little kiddie pools are the reserve are perfect for children. A little paddle pool that tiny ones can sit in and a larger pool that has varying grades for different ages. The reserve is nice and quiet and a great place to hang out with little ones. The only disadvantage of staying at the reserve is that the beach is not at your doorstep. If you stay at the reserve you can walk to the beach which is about 8 mins away or you can take a shuttle.

We stayed at the Reserve for seven nights as part of an all-inclusive package. The hotel grounds are absolutely stunning. There are acres and acres of beautiful, lush, green flowers and trees and gardens and that was definitely our favourite part of the trip. The beach was approximately a 10 minute walk from the reserve lobby but they were always golf carts available to pick you up whenever you wanted to go down to the beach or to the main lobby. We ate at a few of the restaurants and the buffet. Our favourite restaurant by far was Mizu and our chef Sosa really made the experience absolutely spectacular. The food at the buffet was plentiful and overall good. The staff was very helpful and kind. Our concierge for the week was Yesica and she helped us with securing our dinner reservations as well as any other questions that we had throughout the week.

At the beach we were always helped out by the stuff including Jesus and Jendry who were always one step ahead of us when it came to bring us drinks to the beach. The beach is absolutely stunning and they were always Palapas and beach chairs available for use no matter what time of day you would come to the beach. The reserve has its own private beach section which was really nice.

Overall it was a wonderful vacation and we would recommend the trip to anybody. If there was one thing I would recommend in the future would be for the reserve to start looking at renovating rooms because they are getting a little bit dated. Thank you for a wonderful trip.

The Paradisus Palma Real is truly a beautiful resort with fantastic staff but unfortunately the food wasn’t quite up to the typical standards of Meliá.
I must start but talking about the great staff who bend over backwards to make your stay fantastic. Although I could easily say something nice about everyone, I’ll single out three who went above and beyond. The master of the beach Pedro did everything he could to ensure everyone was comfortable where they wanted to be, every single morning and throughout the day. Lewis was a fantastic concierge who took great care of us and maid us feel special. Finally, I can’t forget “mon ami” Anabelle, who is much more than just the spa coordinator.
The resort, the beach, the amenities and our room were all superb and very well maintained. Walking down Bavaro beach, which is my favorite thing to do, you quickly realize how much effort the resort is doing to keep the beach nearly weed free, as many other resorts were struggling majorly.
The first negative, which was surprising based or our past Meliá experiences, was the inconsistency with the food. Certain dishes were still excellent but many were average at best but this could be an impact of COVID maybe. Using frozen vegetables and serving a well done steak when a rare one was ordered was truly out of character. Unfortunately, these happened too many times to only be an isolated event.
Finally, the reason I may choose a none Meliá resort next time has everything to do with their obsession of pressure selling all of their guests to a vacation time share called Circle. They can’t seem to take no for an answer, as their staff are being incentivized to convince everyone to meet their Circle sales team. This simply makes no sense to me and don’t get tempted regardless what they promise.

The beach is about 10 minute walk from the hotel, there are shuttles. There was one restaurant open for lunch that we could use. There were lounges available on the beach that can be used.

There was on resort you could use the pools but not the restaurants. We did not go there as we stayed on the beach every day. We thought by previous reviews we could use the other resort restaurants and went one day for lunch and were told we were not allowed and when we got back that evening we had a visit from our representative for our resort. They are strict about those restrictions which surprised us.

We are not golfers and I don’t recall any mention of a golf course or golf package. They mentioned a casino and tennis courts. There were all kinds of boat packages. I also did not see anyone with golf clubs.
