The host was rude, very pushy with their tour and time share info, we told them we weren't interested in their time share, immediately that same day we were treated differently. We felt ganged by them especially not really understanding the language. The bathroom leaks water and the guest service said oh they have alot of complaints about that and they know they need to reseal the frosted glass. We have pictures of it and it is such bad design. We had to use towels to hold the water in so it doesn't leak onto the floor, which my daughter almost fell. Then late check out, they tried telling me there is no late check out. After few back and forth then they changed their mind and said oh every guest have to pay $10/hr for late check out. I told them I would called JetBlue to complain and confirm, they finally said oh is ok, for you this time is ok. My family and I did not have a good vacation at this Grand Palladium resort and highly NOT recommended. Couple years ago we went to Paradisus and it was awesome, no issues at all. We thought we would try out other resort an of course we regretted it this time. Next time Paradisus again or Hard Rock for sure. STAY AWAY from this resort. We have pictures and videos of the rudeness, and terrible bathroom leaks.

This property has the potential for a greater rating. The lobby area could use some updating and the staff would benefit greatly from etiquette and hospitality training. There are two additional properties to round out the resort which displayed much higher levels of service and detail.

The resort itself is beautiful - massive but beautiful. Our room was nice, we booked an excursion through the guys at the Palace Pool (Dolin Dive) for a buddy tour and it was absolutely terrible. I would book through the resort directly or your travel provider. The biggest reason I rated this 3 stars is for the accommodations for food allergies. I feel like after hours of research, I found that the Palladium Hotels were fairly known for their food allergy program where you get a card upon check in to present to the buffets/restaurants and my assumption was that you would then have help finding safe food items, or items could be cooked for you. So I felt comfortable enough to book, having two children with food allergies. That was not the case. Yes, you can get the card when you ask for it, yes the hostess always ask if there are any food allergies before they sit you - but that's as far as it goes. We had allergy cards translated in Spanish to help us communicate with staff to ensure we could find safe meals for our allergic children and even those weren't helpful. It was like when you present the card, you get blank stares like they aren't sure what to do with it, and I do realize if I spoke Spanish communicating would be easier - yes. But even so, I didn't see any initiative on any of the chef's/waiter's parts to help find foods. It was just a lot of pointing - I think to insinuate yes, something was OK to eat but with allergies you need clear answers. Thankfully, we found Duarte at Poseidon and he was incredible. He did exactly what I would imagine the cards should help do. He took us around the buffet and asked my daughter what she wanted. If she didnt feel safe eating from the buffet due to cross contamination, he offered to make a fresh plate for her in the back. It made her feel so much better knowing she had someone who understood how serious allergies are and was willing to go one extra step. We went there every day after and honestly - if it weren't for him, I dont think she would've eaten anything but fruit all week because no one wanted to help us. Traveling is so stressful for food allergy families already so to go to another country and not feel like you even have help finding food that is safe to eat is disheartening. This was a huge barrier for them in an otherwise beautiful resort.

My family and I took our fourth trip to this resort in 2021 and are due to return this summer. Although we have travelled all over the Caribbean, we choose to return here again and again for its warm hospitality, outstanding natural beauty, and value for money. The resort is enormous, and offers virtually every amenity, cuisine, and activity. The best thing about the resort is the team working there. I stayed here for 17 days during the pandemic at the Palace Hotel (don't ask!) and made friends with virtually everyone working there then. The guest services manager, Carlos Kingsley, and the Indian chef, Mr Singh, went out of their way to take care of me and remain good friends. The Italian food was also incredible, and the chef personally prepared dishes for my birthday. Thank you, Palladium, and we are looking forward to seeing you again soon!

The hotel staff was very nice and accommodating. The pools nicely laid out but I found that there were never enough lounge chairs. Providing regular chairs as an option would have been nice. You obviously had to get there early to claim your chair(s). Everything was kept very clean. It would have been nice to have more shopping options. The only way to see what else the resort had via a tour was to go with the time-share guys who were constantly circling (at least that is the only offer we received).

What an amazing time lovely hotel and Joel was so attentive with pool activities and Michael the bartender/waiter is the best!!! ❤️ The kids club very nice and the hotel itself very clean only suggestion is that they have more availability in the restaurants.

Let me start with experience the first few days. My husband and I arrived May 5, check-in was fast but the first room we were given had 2 beds and was so far away from the beach and pool. The guy that took us to the room was nice enough to call the front desk and have them give us another room with 1 bed. But we decided to upgrade our room (building 2000) to be closer to the beach and pool, crazy thing is that my parents were there just 2 weeks before and they didn’t have to pay for their room that was in the same vicinity (building 3000). I guess they pick and choose, no idea. On Monday night our room (2011) that we upgraded to kept losing power. They sent maintenance over and he would fix it and as soon as he left the power would go off again. Finally, at midnight they said we needed to change rooms. And we moved to the room next door, so annoying. The food itself was not great, at the buffets by the time you sit down the food is cold. We tried the Japanese restaurant and Tex-Mex and that was good. Booking the restaurants is a hassle. They are all booked up, you have to look very early in the morning and get it for a few days out. The beach, we would get there at 8:30am and all the chairs were already taken up by towels. I don’t know what time people would wake up to “reserve” these seats, but it was frustrating. The chairs that would be free were in the sun. The water was dirty the first 2 days, I mean dirty as in a lot of seaweed, but I know there’s not much that can be done. The pool was the same thing, people would “reserve” their seats bright and early. That was the most annoying part. Now, to the worst part of my trip. To go back to the US we needed a negative Covid Test, we took it the day before we were leaving and I tested Positive and my husband was negative. So they told me I would be moved to a part of the hotel that just has people with Covid, I tested positive around 9am and I was in my old room with my husband until about 4pm maybe a little earlier. The room they moved me too, the tv goes in and out and I was not been able to connect to the wifi. I called guest services at both Punta Cana and Barvaro and everyone says they will speak to someone, put a ticket in and still nobody has come. It’s the next day. Also, I left the tooth paste with my husband and I was also calling asking for toothpaste, they kept saying they sent someone and would even reach out a supervisor and still nobody came. When I ordered my room service the guy that brought it was so nice and I told him I needed toothbrush and he came back with 2 kits. Finally, a girl showed up and she gave me towels which I did not ask for. I told her that I had been asking for toothpaste and she looked confused and said she would be back. She never came back. If it wasn’t for the room service guy (Franklin) I would still be waiting. One morning I spoke to Dolores at guest services at Punta Cana and asked if my husband could leave some stuff for them to bring me and she said yes. That was a little before 8am and I didn’t’ get my stuff into later in the day. Trying to get ahold of someone was difficult and when I did they were completely useless. Mind you I speak Spanish, I can’t imagine someone stuck her that doesn’t speak Spanish. The only thing is they did pay for me to stay here there an extra 5 days, but when I say the customer service has been terrible since the moment I moved rooms I mean it. It was definitely a scary time, and like I mentioned Franklin from room service was amazing, he got me through the days. Also, I called Punta Cana and asked to speak to a supervisor HerMias. Hopefully I spelled it right I told him all the problems I as having and he said he would call me back. I told him everyone said that and nobody ever did, and he said “If I say I’m going to call you back I will call you back”. Surprise surprise he never called back. I am posting This review is a few months later, but I did write it while I was sitting in my room terrified. Definitely will not be back to this resort.

This resort is very nice. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our cleaning person was very nice and always left little flowers for us when she cleaned. The adult pool was nice but the frozen drinks were not that good. They should have some activities there along with music. The Hemmingway bar made the best drinks and have live music at 11pm. We went every night. The Espresso Martini was amazing and so was the Chinola Colada. All of the staff there was amazing. If I had to change something about the resort it would be the fact that you have to make reservations for all of the Al a carte restaurants and we could not get one every night even though we went to guest service the night we got there but the buffet restaurants were delicious
