animation team: the resort planned many activities to keep everyone occupied during the trip. everything was planned out and really fun. Mauro is one of the animators and he was fun and made the trip a lot better. everyone was really nice and i felt at home. they had activities like foam parties, water ballon fights, dance parties, water activities and more. during the night, there were shows and activities like karaoke night and beach parties. food: the food was every good with a verity of different meals. there were 2 buffets near the lobby and near the beach which were both really good. you can also reserve at different restaurants to try something new even tho they change the buffet meals all the time.

Our overall experience at Majestic Colonial Punta Cana, was an amazing celebration of life, love, family, and new experiences! The Relationships! (People) We were warmly welcomed to the property by an engaging staff of bellman, hosts/hostesses and representatives from the property. We were provided wet towels to refresh us! The front desk representative was so kind in escorting us to the VIP lounge where a buffet of treats - danishes, nuts, beverages, champagne, coffee/tea, bottled water, etc. was provided. The VIP staff patiently and thoroughly guided us through the amenities and room information. we we're introduced to our personal concierge, Edwin, he personally ensured we were aware of everything the property provided in meals, beverages, activities, amenities to help us navigate the property and help with a relaxing vacation. Edwin was professional, detail oriented, poised, personable, highly engaged, fun spirited and extremely timely in responding to countless requests during our stay. Well done Edwin & Thank you. Our room steward was Ms Rosa! Wow, another beautiful soul! Ms Rosa ensured our room was clean and stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. She was intimate, personable, caring, customer focused and flexible in responding to our families request for services and cleaning. She rocked her role! Thank you Ms Rosa! There were countless servers, spa/resort representatives, facility/maintenance personnel that we witnessed and experienced that helped to make our vacation memorable! Intimacy in every interaction was felt everyday by our family. We had two rooms/suites and we were very pleased with our accommodations. Unfortunately I don't recall all the fabulous names of the staff yet they know who they are and we appreciate your commitment to excellence in service during our families vacation! The Property! Majestic is a beautiful location! It's situated on the beach with great access for amazing views of the ocean and coastline! The wonderful pool is the heart of the property and it's beautiful! It stretches the length of most of the suites, so there's easy access from almost any area. There are stairs and elevators for access to rooms and spacious decks to sit and enjoy it all! The grounds are beautifully manicured and well maintained, we noticed staff out everyday monitoring and performing maintenance checks/inspections. We always felt safe! Food: There's a great variety of food and plenty of it!! It's displayed beautifully and refreshed often. The international buffet - Supreme- will offer the most options. The dining area is gorgeous and the staff are friendly and attentive. We appreciated their support and care! There's seafood, a steakhouse, French (closed tie shoes required and only children over 12 years old), Dominic good- so glad the resort included an option to sample and enjoy the local cuisine- @ the Mexican restaurant. Plan ahead and go early for the restaurants as there will likely be a wait for a couple - the restaurants near the main entrance; the restaurants off the beach, so airy and relaxing we're faster in accommodating seating as it's a larger area. Activities/Entertainment/Amenities/Shopping: So glad the resort thought through had scheduled activities for every evening (around 9:30pm) - magic shows, circus, Michael Jackson, etc. All complimentary. There's dancing with live band, DJ near the bar area that's awesome for a date night and adult-ish vibe! The spa is beautiful and the massage was refreshingly relaxing! Local Vendors: The local vendors come once a week (Thursday's ~3pm -9pm). Be advised that that are a bit aggressive in their approach to sell their merchandise; the y seemed to all have mostly the same things yet they request higher pricing and everyone wants you to visit their table. However we explored each table and were patient and complimentary of all the merchandise and purchased some beautiful ceramic turtles. Negotiate as some of the items are in the gift shop on the property. We were excited that the local vendors were on property for a day. Child Care: The Children's day camp is a great option; the staff and counselors are respectful, professional & fun. There's video games, pools, maze, snacks, ballon animals, crafts, Etc. Go Majestic Ground Transportation: It was a great feeling to have vendor who ensured we had private - reliable round trip ground transportation to/from the airport- resort. Nice. (~$80) Note: (Purchases) Be familiar with the exchange rate for Dominican Republic as receipts will have purchases reflected/represented in the local currency. Pack an adapter for your cellphone and devises. They are about $30 at the airport. There will be European outlets at the resort the adapters will allow the conversions and ability for you to plug in your electronic devices. There are a couple of usb wall ports available also in each suite. The shower head is a European style/overhead However there's also a hand held shower head in the showers. Be ready to explore, hade a great time, keep an open mind, be reasonably flexible and commit to sharing friendship and grace everywhere you go and you're sure to have a special and memorable vacation & stay at Majestic Colonial! Thanks Majestic!!

I stayed in majestic colonial for my 31th birthday celebration and I was left with a ugly distasteful and utterly disgusting experience. Before my trip I was advised to bring cash to be able to tip the waiters, butler and room service workers, unfortunately about 230 USD were stolen from me out my room. I originally made the claim for a 100 dollar bill because that’s what I noticed was missing, but then once I was able to really dig deep, I realized more than double what I originally claimed was missing. I spoke to a gentle who originally filed the claim and he assured me that in a span of 48 hours the hotel would get back to me with answers, he failed to keep his word. On my last day of my stay I spoke to Ms VERENISE, she had ZERO solutions and ZERO answers. She gave me a number to contact her supervisor MR Jean C. ARRENDONDO, the number didn’t work. So I’m emailing now to try to find common ground and fix this issue. In other hotels the hotel typically corrects this issue by reimbursing the STOLEN money, reimbursing the stay or giving a complementary stay. MAJESTIC COLONIAL has done or offered neither. The problem isn’t the amount stolen. The problem more so that a paying guest should not ever be STOLEN From and left to go home unsatisfied with his stay due to unfortunate events like this.

We returned to Majestic Colonial Club from 9 years ago to stay for 11 days and had a great time this second time around. Many things have changed due to economy just like anywhere else, but one thing stays the same is the smiles from the staff team that make our moments joyful and memorable. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Mr. Ramiro our butler that made our trip so relaxing and were treated with the upmost professional service. No matter where we were at in the resort, Ramiro managed to find us and to see if all was well or needed something. He assisted with our reservation, special requests, as well as our early immediate departure. We stayed in room 3249 Beach front view, it was amazing, restrooms seemed a bit small and cold room at times but we enjoyed it. Housekeeping and room service: Our room was kept clean, stocked decorated each day by Iris so nice lady. Room service had great food selection, but will take 45 to an hour. Food was a bit different than before less quality, I didn't care much about the Mexican restaurant nor French. As for the seafood and Steak these two were the best. I wish they would have kept the beach party as before with live cirque actors and fresh hot bbq cook outs. Casino and workout room: I normally don't play much, but after putting in $20 on a 1 cent machine after my 2nd try I won $425 that was luck lol The gym was small just enough to get a good workout 💪. As for the beach there is always seaweed but not so bad that you can't swim, it's maintained periodically. Be sure to take water shoes there's rocks. If you like to snorkel walk in front of the Majestic sign about 80 feet where you would be 4 feet deep and you will see small reefs. Ramiro, Iris, Yovoni, Minerva, Diomaris, Francisco, and Jonathan known as (Mr. Wick) we thank you much for your hospitality, many Blessings to you all.I asked if you see any of these amazing staff members stop to say hello. Best regards, Amador Hernandez

The hotel staff are all amazing. We had help planning a proposal and they took care of everything. Melvin was our point of contact and he made the experience super easy. While we where lounging on the beach or pool he was preparing everything. Garibaldi was our butler, anything we needed from activities to golf to room decorations he was always available. I mainly contacted him via text and he was so quick to reply.

Overall, my family was pleased with our choice of the Majestic Colonial Resort in Punta Cana. This was our second trip to the island in recent years and we were glad to see that construction has continued making it easier to get around the island quicker. The airport has expanded and was a nice welcome to wait in arriving customs lines in air conditioning. Arriving at the resort, you are taking into an open air lobby that even in the heat has a cool breeze blowing through it. The staff was friendly and cordial, but we did have to wait a bit for our room. Because we waited over an hour the wound up assigning us another room that was just down a bit farther that happened to be ready. The beach, pools and property were maintained well and reminded us of Dreams Punta Cana where we had stayed before. The food offerings were good, but not great and I would recommend making reservations at the two restaurants that take them as the quality of food and service were better. The other restaurants (Mexican, steakhouse and seafood) where reservations were not needed had lines that ranged from 45 minutes to over an hour and once you got in you waited even longer. The food was OK at these restaurants but as I said the reservation ones more than excelled above these. I would like to let you know that I ordered Chicken Milanese and scalloped potatoes at the steakhouse being that I avoid beed due to having gout and laughed with my family when a place with 2 chicken fingers and ridged French fries was put in front of me (basically a meal for a toddler). When I order Chicken Milanese anywhere else I have always gotten breaded chicken cutlet over an arugula and tomato salad with shaved parmesan and scalloped potatoes, well were not shaped French fries. At the Le Gourmet restaurant, I would suggest the Lamb Chops Medium or Medium Rare or the Filet Mignon. For starter the mushroom ravioli or beef carpaccio were family favorites. The bar staff was great, so bring extra money to tip them as they work incredibly hard whether it be at the lobby bars or beach/pool ones. The restaurant wait staff in the summer didn't compare at all to the staff at Dreams (who were mostly college kids who spoke English). At Majestic my wife had problem communicating her gluten allergy even with a card and paperwork that guest services told her to present at meals. Overall the pool and beach vibe at the hotel were relaxing and really like the hotel for this. And this crowd of guests is a mixture of guests from many countries. So if you are looking for a US only crowd, choose the Hard Rock (a story for another review) My family did well, except for my wife who had a bout of diarrhea which I attribute to the non bottled water at dinner (you can ask for bottled water, though you may need to wait a bit longer and recommend it). I would go back, but I think my family would like to try something new each year. The pricing was reasonable and the location from the airport was about a 30 minute drive. If this is your first time to Punta Cana and looking for an upscale hotel on a budget I would recommend the Majestic Colonial for its relaxed vibes, but please make those reservations when you check in to the upscale restaurants.

Really enjoying our stay here at Majestic Colonial. Wish I could give it 4.5 stars. Let's get to the weird tips! 1. If you like frozen drinks - and there are plenty here - bring your own straws! They have none here due, I assume, to the eco-nuts who think not using a straw while drinking out of plastic cups will somehow "save the planet." Regarless, drinking a frozen drink without a straw to mix it occasionally and suck up the frozen deliciousness just seems wrong. 2. Put your pills in the refrigerator. Humidity here is crazy. The AC in the room is fine, but a couple of my Rx pills and a daily vitamin in my daily pill holder have literally dissolved. I kid you not. Even an Rx capsule was dissolving before I noticed the problem. Refrigeration seems to have stopped the problem. 3. CPAP Popping! I never experienced any "popping" in my CPCP before, but when the tunes get condensation in them I get a constant popping that makes it impossible to sleep. This, too, is due to the high humidity here. I triad a couple of ways to get rid of the water. Last night before I went bed I found a good way to do it. I took the tubes apart, took them into the huge shower, held one and a whirled them around. The water flies out the end. I had no problem with water or popping last night. 4. Discover the buffet at the beach end of the resort early in your stay. The Supreme buffet near the lobby is crowded, the food is poorly labeled, the whole scene is somewhat "messy" for lack of a better word. The buffet by the beach opens later this week (9 am), but is much better in every way. Same food, but neat, less crowded, better coffee and water service at the tables. 5. Evening entertainment at the theater is almost comical. This ain't Vegas. Keep your expectations low and your sense of humor on. "The Ultimate Classic Rock Show" has to be seen and heard to be believed, but in a hilarious way. The shows seem to get better as the week goes on. I'm not saying don't go. It's something to do and mildly entertaining. Just don't expect too much. 6. Don't bother trying to dry your beach towels. Just throw them in a pile. Then grab your damp towel on your way to the beach or pool and trade it in for a new one at the towel hut. No card needed for a swap. (They won't dry in this humidity anyway.) 7. Along the same lines, get new towels every day from housekeeping. They won't dry hanging on chars and hooks. 8. Bring a large shower curtain and a few Command hooks kthe sticky temporary ones). The "bathroom" is oddly not private. The toilet area and shower have an opaque glass door, but otherwise there is no private area to get dressed. Trust me, if you or the kids want privacy, this is a must. 9. Contrary to the information you may have read, there is no longer a Kids Club. It is now just the kids pool where the slides and pools are. Probably because there was no demand (at least at this time of year, August). Maybe at other times it's there, I don't know. 10. The "sports bar is a bust. I had visions of shooting pool and having drinks late at night. It's a weird bar devoid of guests and the pool table is awful and the cues have no tips. I can't see why anyone would go there unless there's a big soccer match or something. (There are no TVs elsewhere.) Just pretend there is no sports bar. If I can edit this post, I will add more tips and thoughts. This is a great place. Clean, well maintained, really nice. But I wish I had known a couple of things before I got here, so I'm passing it along.
