We drove the Talimena only to see rain and fog. However, ABear's Den made it worth the drive! This is truly a luscious retreat. Edith has thought of absolutely everything to make her guests feel like they have a home away from home!
Such a beautiful weekend for a ride to Mena through the Talihina trail. My wife and I made a last minute decision to make this trip and the local hotels were either booked or seemed too cheep. Luckily we found this little gem, and were fortunate enough to book it. We couldn't have been more blessed! This secluded little hideaway was absolutely perfect. The home is perfectly nestled on a wooded lot,on a quiet street, and we couldn't tell we were in town. We had a very restful and quiet stay. We look forward to returning here one day and hopefully meeting our host. Thank you Edith, for the opportunity to stay here.
We drove into Mena from the Hot Springs area without a hotel reservation for the night. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts at locating something we lucked out when A Bear's Den B&B answered our call. We could not have asked for a better place to spend our evening/night. Edith and Oliver greeted us and were a welcome sight to weary travelers. Such a beautiful and peaceful place. We enjoyed a glass of wine in the back yard garden/haven before turning in for the evening in a gorgeous master suite with large sitting area and big bathroom with double lavatory vanity. We departed after coffee on the spacious front porch the following morning. Would've loved to have stayed longer, but the road was calling us. IF you ever find yourself in the Mena, AR area and need accommodations for the night we highly recommend A Bear's Den B&B. You won't be disappointed.…
After booking a previous place that wasn't up to our expectations, Edith took three of us in on short notice for a great deal! She was so friendly (as was her sweet pup, Oliver), everything was extremely clean, and her back patio (hot tub and fire pit) are perfection for a quiet getaway. Coffee and tea were provided as well. Note that other people can stay across the hall from you so you may not have total silence, but we had no problems at all with our stay.
The B&B was pretty, very comfortable, exceptionally clean, beautiful grounds, delicious breakfast and extraordinary hostess. We are gluten free and Edith made gluten free cookies for our arrival as well as gluten free muffins for breakfast.
