We paid $172 US for a very small room in the main building of this hostel. When researching we found most lodgings on Chiloe Island were expensive. However, we were shocked when we saw the room assigned for us. See photos below. The room had a double bed and not much space around it. The bathroom was tiny. Our view...

This is a beautifully renovated palafito, very well designed, but the twin room we had was very small. Having use of the shared kitchen/living area helped. It was a lot noisier than I expected, partly from the road traffic and partly from neighbouring dogs barking throughout the night. Some of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, but not all.

My wife and I spent three nights at the Palafito del Mar last month. TripAdvisor is my primary source for choosing hotels, and our stay here was just as described, just as we hoped. The hotel itself is a work of art: lots of creative use of natural materials, light, awareness of the tides, beautiful design. As a palafito, this...

Never been to a place that was stingy on the coffee. You would think, with a place full of guests, the coffee would be ready at 8 am, the time they told us breakfast is served. The lady running the place spoke no English, or acted like she didn't. We tried to be gracious at breakfast. She never tried to...

It is an great place to stay, but not worth the 400 USD I had to pay to stay 4 nights in the lower bedrooms, the cleanliness of the bedrooms is not great, the bathroom of the bedroom we stayed at wasn't treated properly for molde on the bathroom walls and they didn't leave us any new soaps or shower...

Absolutely beautiful place to stay with a great view from the lobby/dining room and great location next to city center, but in a quiet part of it. The staff is very friendly. They can give you their boat. It's great to watch the tides that are a few times a day from that big big window in the common area...

Stayed here for a couple of days during January 2016 and I warmly recommend this boutiqe hotel to anyone who wants to experience a modern palafito stay. Good service and helpful friendly staff. Nice breakfast and short walking distance to most places in Castro.

The place is really a gem with a wonderful architecture, beautiful rooms, a spacious living, good breakfast and very nice staff. All rooms have a view over the water and the neighbouring palafitos, those on the 1st floor are brighter. One of the best places I have been to in Chile.

Upon first impression the place looks a bit stiff but it soon proved otherwise. It is spotless, simple and modern yet still comfortable. The beds are just way too comfortable which make it difficult to leave the room in the morning. I had the best room in the house (lucky number 7) with the best view. The breakfast is slightly...

Completely renovated palafito with 7 rooms. Not much from the outside and we were a bit leery at first, but after 4 days, 3 nights I highly recommend this place. Located walking distance to restaurants is a plus as you don't want to have a pisco and then drive. Parking right in front was secure. Only downside was bit of...
