We stayed three nights in a spacious triple room with great view onto the sea. The hotel has a good location near the Plaza de Almas and a lot of restaurant, sights and supermarkets are in walking distance. The property is older, but everything is clean and the rooms are also made up everyday. The breakfast is not exceptional, but...

Stayed here for one night in a double room. The building is a bit old, a lot of peeling paint and wallpaper and the doors don't really close properly but it is hard to find somewhere on the island that isn't like that. The owner is welcoming and the hostal is clean and warm throughout. The bathroom was a little...

We were backpacking in Chile and on the look-out for cheap, yet decent accomodation when we arrived in Castro. We checked out a couple of hostels recommended by our travel guide and found them all very awful and pricy. Finally, we discovered the Kolping hostel in a side street near the main square and got almost ecstatic when we entered...

I and a friend stayed at this hostal in Castro in early November. The island of Chiloe is fascinating, and for anyone who wants to discover 'off the beaten track 'Chile is worth going to - especially if you enjoy hiking, cycling and looking at wildlife. The Kolping's location is great - right in the heart of Castro, 2-3 minutes'...
