Eddie's homestay is the best place in Lhonga to stay in while catching some waves at the nearby Lho'nga beach. 40min away from Banda Aceh, the place is just 5 minute walk from surf spots. They rent out boards and there is a restaurant at the guesthouse. Eddie cooks a nice Gado Gado :)

Clean, cosy and a social hostel. Highly recommended!!

The hotels in banda aceh are rough (especially for the price). Eddie's homestay is warm, comfortable and welcoming.

Eddie and Dennis are gracious hosts and really go out of their way to assist you with anything. The guesthouse is 5 minutes from the beach and 15 minutes from town by motorbike. When in Banda Aceh, I would definitely stay here again.

Happy travels.

Eddy and Danny are really kind and really helpful. They know where to send you for surfing, eating and enjoying Aceh. Loved playing soccer in Banda Aceh with Danny! The surf is pretty difficult for a beginner, but the vibe is good.

Eddie's Homestay was the friendliest place we stayed at during our whole time in Indonesia (5 months). Eddie, Danny and the family were very welcoming. They go out of their way to ensure that you have a good time. Rooms are clean and comfortable with a choice of single or double, air- con or fan, ensuite or shared bathroom. Kitchen facilities are available or delicious food can be bought at the homestay. There are a number of eating places and small shops close by. Surf is a 5 minute walk from the homestay. Surfboards and bikes are available for hire. Lhoknga is a great community.

I have been to Eddie Homestay for 3 times, I am Martin from Holland. Eddie great person that I ever met. If you are in Aceh and want to go to Sabang is better stay in Eddie homestay instead in Banda Aceh as takes you only 15 minute to harbour. you can also doing kitesurfing during May till September. During ramadhan (fasting month) the food will be available for you, it maybe the only place to cook lunch and breakfast for you. This is the only place that I recommended to you.

I must say a big thank you !
I felt to be at home.

After 7 months around Indonesia that was the cleanest and relaxing place to be, and the price are really correct. I was 3 times in this place on different period in 2013 (july, september and december). Eddie and Dani doing everything to help and make you comfortable. All family are really nice and friendly. The food is very very good and you have also the possibility to eat in some restaurant in the street.

At 3min walking to the beach, you can see during 6 months surfer and other 6 months kit surfer, but the most beautiful is the sunset, that was every night amazing with a different view...

Thanks for this experience I will never forget mon ami, I will go back soon in my home in Aceh....

I spent 2 months at Eddie Homestay in Banda Aceh / Lampuuk. This homestay is really comfortable and room/food prices are very very good. Actually the best in Banda Aceh : Accomodation for tourists/surfer are hard to find in Aceh and i recommend you not to follow your travel guide or you will most probably end up in nightmare-places.
Eddie homestay is runned by 2 nice brothers Dany and Eddie. I've never seen before such an implication to welcome the guests, make you feel good, explain the best spots to see in the area and help you if needed (take a Finish guest to the dentist at 2 am !). I am not a surfer myself but I met so many surfers at Eddie Homestay from all over the world getting up at 5am to "check the swell" that sure I will try it soon. Eddie Homestay is very close to top surfing spots (said to be hard for beginners but just fine for medium level surfers) and provide the guests with motobikes to carry surfboards. Surfboards can also be rented at Eddie Homestay. At evening time Eddie will bluff you with his magical abilities with cards and in case you get sick, you do not have to worry here, since Eddie is about to finish his high study and be graduated as a doctor ... The best place in Aceh for surfers and tourists willing to discover the true Indonesian culture and hospitality ....See you soon guys

Eddie's homestay is a great place to stay. It's close to the beach, has a laidback atmosphere, the service is perfect and I met a lot of nice people! Eddie's homestay is run by Eddie and his brother Dani. It was so good that it felt almost like home!
There are a couple very good surfspots nearby. But besides surfing you can also go on a trip to Banda Aceh or go see some beautiful rainforest and wildlife!
I had a great time here and I can recommend staying at Eddie's!

Wonderful place with fantastic service and food. I stayed for 16 days. Eddie, Dani and staff well and truly went above and beyond to look after me and other guests on the premises. Great place to socialise also. Highly recommended.
