Our stay at AL Nawatef Camp was super--the views are great and the hosts very friendly and helpful. Speaks pretty good English and the food is very good. They have both indoor and outdoor accommodations and are easy to get to. The hiking is excellent...More
If you want an authentic experience, beautiful landscapes, fantastic hiking all around, if you accept simple confort (no WiFi, sometimes no electricity), don't hesitate. Very welcoming owners, will do their best for their guests (heater in winter, blankets...). The meal was the best of Jordan,...More
Excellent food for dinner, friendly people, nice tents with great views over the canyon and plenty of blankets! We managed to have take-away breakfast as we departed early the following morning.
All good! Go for it!
I have visited the camp quite a few times now and wanted to say again how wonderful the place is. Such a lovely peaceful location, and the warmest, kindest hosts. You are welcome as soon as you get out of the car and are treated...More
Very peaceful place with beautiful views and very hospitable hosts. After one night in the camp we decided to stay one more night. The manager of the camp can help to organize very interesting daily treks around the place. Highly recommended.

The weather is changing quite fast depending the time and where you are even in a valley or down the valley, depending where you are in the country, temperature are very different at dead sea, Dana reserve, North and Wadirum.
I experience Dana reserve in january, starting with a coat (very windy), then only pullover, then t-shirt. So normal long pants (better if climbing and walking in rocks, light one to be dry fast if rain) with three layers on top probably the best for winter. Weather changing so fast... Most important good shoes. Wooly hat also for the wind sometimes (even Wadirum).
