We went there as a group to get away from busy city life , lovely drive in and more recently the road to the lodge has been tarmaced so didn't struggle with car getting stuck . Rooms are small but have everything you need plus a lovely balcony to view the animals, don't expect a palace it's a lodge. Amazing...

The Mountain Lodge was a lovely break from the heat and dust of Tsavo and Amboseli - Mt Kenya is lush green and the air is cool. As reported before the rooms are wooden and the walls are quite thin. We met out neighbours for dinner and complimented the gentleman on his singing - to learn that they were married...

The best thing about this place is the service! Staff were amazing and so generous of spirit. The hike through the forest was spectacular with sacred trees and colobus monkeys flying above us in the trees. The beds and rooms are luxurious and spacious. Watering hole visible from all parts of the lodge. Loved it!

We stayed here for two nights at the start of our safari. The rooms were excellent, well appointed and clean. At night we returned from dinner to find lovely hot water bottles in our beds. Perfect as it got quite nippy. During dinner you are asked if you want waking for certain animals visiting the water hole. We did this...

This is completely different to any other safari lodge. Tucked away on the mountain overlooking a watering hole, this lodge is unique and perfect for relaxing after a long flight. We were here for one night and never experienced anything so peaceful. Drinks are a little pricey but the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. Perfect...

I arrived there on a chilly Saturday late afternoon and was warmly welcomed by the hotel staff with warm towels and a glass of a fruity cocktail(with real fruit). The ambience was really welcoming and I got a room with a fantastic view of the watering hole. I spent my evening (as I waited for my partner who was running late)...

This was our third destination in our Transtrek safari. We arrived after a 5 hour drive from Meru and were welcomed with warm towels and a fruit drink. We had a hasty lunch which was probably not the best of the meals we had here as it seemed to have been reheated. A delightful guided walk in the forest was...

This being, apart from the Mount Kenya Safari Club, the only accommodation that high up on Mt. Kenya, has to be ranked special. Set overlooking a waterhole is this wooden structure now part of the Serena stable and it shows. I remember the days when AT&H run it, or ran it down and the giant task by the new owners...

Wonderful Hotel (though a distance from the main road), serenity, wonderful staff, amazing food, worth every penny spent. Lots of wildlife at the watering point though the variety is limited, wish I stayed longer to see more. Wonderful reception on arrival inclusive of a cold tower and a cooling drink. The staff was very helpful to ensure our stay was...

Stayed here one night of our photo safari. VERY rustic. Rooms are small and bath is tiny. Staff is somewhat accommodating but the Nature Walk was informative and lovely. They are currently in a drought so the path was dry instead of mucky. They serve tea in the forest complete with "brown milk" some sort of alcoholic brandy. The guide...
