I don't know what I can say about the gorilla camp and Nkuringo Walking Safaris (NWS) that hasn't already been said by so many people before me on tripadvisor but as that they have just given me one of the best (or perhaps THE best) trip(s) of my life, I thought I should add my eternal thanks here to R... The Nkuringo Gorilla Camp is one of the very few places I have visited where budget travellers, staying in the camp's tents (Lazy Camping option) mix well with travellers who opt for the Virunga Terrace rooms (8 well appointed rooms and 3 adjoining dedicated bathrooms) or the more upmarket self contained cottages. The communal dining room and bar brings them... More

Thoroughly recommended. Great welcoming friendly staff and super service. Comfortable suit. Hot water when requested, and electricity from the generator during the evening hours. Agatha was our guide for three days of walking safaris around the local community and down to Lake Mutanda and Kisoro -- she was excellent: great fun, informative and interesting... she really made our stay. First, second, no, third time we have been in the Nkuringo Gorilla Camp and yes, we feel at home. This is such a lovely place. The magnificent environment and the beautiful ecological camp, we always want to go back. And everytime it gets better. Now there is a very nice terrace near the dinningroom, where we enjoyed drinking a Nile,... More

What a nice place! We really enjoyed our stay, we can recommend to stay here at least three nights, because there is are a lot of other activities in the aera than only a visit to the gorilla’s! The rooms are nice and comfortable, the only downside is that you have to walk quite a long way to the communal... More

Enchanting place, staff very kind and helpful. The perfect place to relax after the gorilla tracking and to get in touch with the local communities ( go and visit the school). We'll never forget our stay here. Thank you!!

We were scheduled to stay here before gorilla tracking. When we found out the gorilla group we were assigned to was not close, these people helped us arrange another camp to stay in. PLUS, they made sure our gorilla permits got over to that camp. I was very pleased with their support and cooperation. I'll stay here next time. For... More

I stayed at this camp in April of 2013. As the camp is in a price bracket that is significantly lower than many of the others in Bwindi, I was not sure what we were going to get. The rooms were great and the staff could not be better. They even watched my 2 year old while we went of... More

This is the perfect place to stay for gorilla trekking. The road in is horrible, but if you want to gorilla trek you're going to have to survive it. But once you get to camp, the Nkuringo trekking is literally 300m away. The camp itself is perfectly atmospheric with views south to Sabinyo and friends volcanos as well as into... More

We did a four-day walking safari which included a hike up Mount Sabinyo, the point at which the borders of the DRC, Rwanda and Uganda all meet. Our guide, Adolf, was fantastic! Very gentle, knowledgeable and a great sense of humour. Walking through the communities, canoeing across the lake and walking out through Bwindi after seeing the gorillas was an... More
