Couldn’t have picked a better spot for our first venture abroad for 18 months. Gran Hotel Soller is delightful.

Things we loved -
The warm and friendly staff
The attention to cleanliness and safety
The opulent exterior and garden
The rooftop pool with its mountain views
The varied menus and daily fresh orange juice for breakfast
The perfect location on the doorstep of the train to Port Soller - and a few minutes’ walk into town

Rooms are a little small and the interior slightly dated but this didn’t detract from what was a brilliant week in the Soller sun.

I recently stayed in the hotel for 2 weeks for a friends wedding and it was one of the greatest experiences I've had abroad. The staff were so friendly and attentive, they even went the extra mile to drop my friend to her hotel one evening as getting a taxi is Soller is near enough impossible!! The breakfast was delicious especially the fresh orange juice and with lots of options for hot and cold food, however I didn't rate the dinner at their main restaurant but Soller has enough places to eat in the evening so it didn't matter. The rooftop pool is incredible, you can easily spend a day there with great options for lunch and cocktails. We loved our room too, it was really spacious and it would get cleaned early so by the time you went back to your room after a morning swim, it was already done for you to get ready for the day ahead. I would 100% come back and would recommend anyone to stay!!

We have just spent five nights at the Gran Hotel Soller and we are missing it already! The hotel has elegance and charm and is ideally situated in the centre of town but with no traffic noise, five minutes from the main square and tram/train station. Our corner, top floor superior room with balcony had a wonderful view over the mountains and the room was equipped with a large bathroom, kettle and fridge.

We took the half board option which was very good value and we thoroughly enjoyed the imaginative three course dinner and the generous breakfast (with hot food cooked to order).

All the staff were without exception, warm, helpful and professional and we particularly appreciated the gift of chocolates and sparkling wine on our birthdays.

From the hotel it is a ten minute walk to the bus stop where you can reach the beautiful beach at Puerto Soller or the lovely towns of Deiea and Valdemossa. We recommend taking the bus to the pretty village of Fornalux and walking back to Soller, stopping at Biniarix for a coffee or lunch stop en route.

Thanks to all the staff at Gran Hotel Soller and we will be back for another visit in the future!

Impeccable service, truly attentive and supportive staff.
Catered to everything we asked, restaurant recommendations and bookings, tours, rental cars. I have only positive things to say about this hotel and its staff.

Located is in the heart of Soller, with museums, 20+ restaurants (we tried 6, following their recommendation), and shopping on their doorstep. The tram to Port de Sóller stops just outside the entrance, making a visit to the beaches very easy and effortless. Comfortable rooftop pool with a classic lunch menu and a bar. We spent 3 days on the roof and never had problems getting a cabana or a sunbeds with umbrellas.
The indoor pool and the jacuzzi was also nice for early morning swims before breakfast.

Great breakfast selection, not everything but great selection of fresh fruit, bakery products and a breakfast menu for warm food, all included in the roomrate.

The only thing the staff failed to get us was a table at Restaurante Luna 36. So, if you are eager to get a table there, book prior to arrival.

We stayed at the Gran Hotel for a week and couldn't have been more impressed by the whole experience. The hotels location in Soller is perfect with all amenities, restaurants and shops only yards from the front door.

The staff were all wonderful and very helpful which made our stay all the more enjoyable. Breakfast on the terrace was a daily event that we looked forward too. The top floor pool terrace was occasionally busy but we loved it and made good use of it on many occasions.

There is a lovely old tram that takes you to Port Soller which is worth a trip once (but it isn't cheap for daily beach trips) . The train into Palma is also a must.

We would suggest hiring a small car (note the word small) tiny roads/big buses!

We love the hotel and think it has become our new favorite and we will definitely be returning, hopefully very soon

Dear HowieNR60, Thank you very much for your recent visit to the Gran Hotel Sóller and for this wonderful report on Tripadvisor. As you rightly point out, the location of the Gran Hotel Sóller is excellent, just a stone's throw from the centre of the town of Sóller, close to all the town's amenities and in a relaxed environment. We are very proud of your comments directed towards our staff, who are truly our greatest asset. The combination of professionalism and friendliness really makes the guest feel at home here. To be able to have breakfast on our terrace and swim in the penthouse pool, highlights even more the beauty of the surroundings and we are very fortunate to be in the wonderful valley of Sóller at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana. The tram and train of Sóller have become the true icon of the town, so a trip is not cheap, and although it is worth trying it once, it is a great idea to hire a small car. Also at Gran Hotel Sóller we have a car park for our guests at an economical price. Proud to be your favourite hotel, we look forward to welcoming you back here at Gran Hotel Sóller very soon! We spent my Birthday weekend at this hotel and we had a wonderful time! The staff were all so lovely and friendly. The hotel helped my husband order a delicious birthday cake as a surprise.
We particularly enjoyed the pool with its stunning views of the mountain.
We went during a time when covid numbers were slowly rising in Mallorca and we really appreciated all the covid-safe precautions the hotel put in place.
One ever so tiny criticism: more sockets needed for charging devices in the hotel room!

I’m going to start by saying that if we could give it more than 5 stars, we would!
We stayed for 5 nights in one of the Annex rooms, top floor.
We went for the cheaper option of the annex room but it was still a great room, still pretty much attached to the main hotel and we could not fault it. A balcony, a big shower room, very clean, a good view of the mountains and cathedral… everything you’d expect in a good quality hotel. We loved hearing the “toot” on the little red tram and watching it go past. Unfortunately we don’t have any photos of the room.

The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the main square where the restaurants are excellent - we didn’t try them all but we loved Sa Granja and there were always people willing to queue for a table as the evening went on.

The staff at Gran Hotel Soller were always very friendly… we can’t name them all but we can give a “shout out” to Barbara who served us every morning at breakfast… we called her “La Profesora” as she attempted to teach us a few words of spanish! She also speaks fluent English and German, and french too… what a legend.

Anyway… the “all you can eat” breakfast has everything you want and it’s all delicious. Staff are so attentive with their service… always very polite and quick to attend. The only major thing we can’t comment on is the restaurant for lunch and dinner as we opted to eat out every night.

The rooftop pool is something to die for… gorgeous views and even a few 4 poster double bed sun loungers.

The only thing we didn’t like in this hotel was the strange depressing art work on some of the corridor walls??

Thank you so much to all the staff at Gran Hotel for a very enjoyable stay. We will be back!

As you say, the rooms in our annex building, although cheaper, have all the comfort to enjoy a perfect stay. We are glad to hear that you found our staff friendly and professional. We stayed here for three nights to begin our honeymoon fortnight in late august. I could not fault our experience from start to finish. The staff were incredible on reception and at breakfast(which offered loads of choice such as omelettes and pastries). The bar staff were also very good and the prices were, while similar to prices here in Ireland, not too bad considering its a 5*. Our room had a lovely little balcony where my husband could smoke and the bathroom was massive and had plenty of hot water and space in it. Upon arriving at the hotel i realised i had left my phone on the back seat of our taxi, once i told reception they immediately rectified the situation by contacting the transfer company and the driver was back in 10 minutes with it. The indoor pool was lovely and warm and the outdoor pool while small is gloriously placed on the rooftop. It truly was a 5* experience.

You can also walk there either down the main road (about 1/2 hour) or across the GR227 footpath which is a lovely walk around the back lanes and across the edge of a forest/hill. Takes about 45 mins that way but you get beautiful views of Soller Valley.

Hello Anne, Thank you for your question. On a sunny day at the end of March, the rooftop pool terrace at the Gran Hotel Soller does receive sun throughout the day. You can then enjoy a lovely time by the pool while soaking up the sun. However, we would like to inform you that our outdoor pool is not heated and the temperature in Soller (Mallorca) at the end of March might still be cold, even on sunny days. We recommend checking the weather forecast before your visit. Thank you for your interest and we hope to see you soon. Best regards, Flavio Mirabella Gran Hotel Soller

Dear Dave M., thank you very much for your interest in booking at the Gran Hotel Sóller. Our hotel is located in center of the town, where the space is very limited. We are one of the few hotels in Sóller to have a swimming pool and this is located on the rooftop with stunning view of the mountain and village. However the space on the rooftop is limited, so occupancy of sun sun loungers will depend on the day. Our guests usually visit us for for the combination of services and the very central location, however we are not a beach hotel as many in the Port of Sóller where they usually have bigger pools. If you are looking for an hotel with large pool are, we suggest to have a look at the Aimia Hotel in Port de Sóller which is part of our same group. Best Regards Flavio Mirabella
