What a location - a restored castle on top of the hill overlooking the Pyrenees and central Catalonia. Food was absolutely superb - the best dinner we have eaten for a long time. Service excellent, rooms llovely, cafeteria great. I just can't think of anything that wasn't perfect!

Wow such a beautiful castle. I think it is well worth spend for 150 Euro/night. But you can find a cheaper deal if you not stay during the weekend. The hotel doesn't have swimming pool but I am just happy to wonder around the castle!. The breakfast is disappointed. I didn’t enjoy it..The little tapazs was cold and tasteless (chorizo...

Impressive castle with massive fortifications outside with comfortable rooms and facilities inside. Nice bar to enjoy the sunset. Friendly and competent staff. Paradores at it's best. The parador has no pool but the municipal pool of Cardona is fine and at walking distance (and with parking facilities). The village below has some nice restaurants.

This is a beautiful hotel the bar/cafe on top of the castle is a wonderful place to relax before dinner or just to watch the sunset.dont get put off by the salt mines the people who complain about this view are missing the point. The castle great town and mine are inextricably linked. The rooms to the north are good...

If you know Paradors then you will be aware that the majority are in stunning locations and/or in ancient buildings. This has both to perfection. The restaurant was (as usual) top quality but possibly the best of any Parador we have stayed in. We have always wondered where the rest of the guests are when we are in the dining room,...

Our fourth Parador and definitely our favourite - fantastic location, enormous comfortable bedroom, charming staff - what more could you ask for? Well, if we're being picky - a carpet in reception so the suite below isn't bothered by the comings and goings. It was great to be able to wander round the ramparts after the visitors have left. The...

We liked everything about that hotel. Personnel, decor, food, everything... We do not hesitate to recommend it. Small town of Cardona very charming. But if you want to travel a little bit more, you can be in Andorra la Velle, a small country between France and Spain, where you can shop duty free. We spent 4 nights in Cardona to...

This is how Paradors should be. Cardona is an old Castle with massive fortifications and you can see it from miles away. The Castle dominates the town and the location all around it and is also home to the Castle Museum. Drive up the impossible road to the Parador and be welcomed by the friendly staff. The service was excellent...

We loved this romantic castle with its authentic furnishings. Even though the weather had been chilly and rainy, the castle and our rooms were warm (One thing I'm always wary of is old stone buildings in bad weather!). Among our conveniences were a heated towel warmer in the bathroom. !) . We particularly enjoyed a romantic dinner (see pix) but...

I use a rolling walker and requested and received a disabled access room. It was lovely with views over the courtyard and beyond. The room was large and easy to maneuver but as in all paradors, throw rugs were placed on the floor by the bed and are an impediment to wheelchairs and rolling walkers. However, it is easy enough...
