The Parador is well located for excursions into the Vale del Jerte. During our stay the Parador was busy; some of the F&B staff was still friendly, others less. The cleanliness of the environment let a lot to desire!

We stayed here for just one night to break up a long car journey. Our room was quite basic but clean and comfortable. As with some other Paradors, the service was 'variable': reception staff seemed more interested in talking to each other and fiddling with a printer problem than giving us a warm, friendly professional check-in experience. Similarly the old...

We went to celebrate Saint Valentine's weekend and at the end we fell in love with the Parador. The building is spectacular and the environment too. There is a very good restaurant with a big variety of typical products. For me was amazing when we discovered that " Carlos I" was living there and suddenly we felt as we were living...

Our stay and this Parador was an outstanding experience, the staff could not have been more welcoming, friendly or helpful, and the food and service were exceptional. The Parador is like a magic dream and the history and culture of La Vera is fabulous. Definitely somewhere we would want to stay again, and for longer.

A great place to base and explore the area. It really is a castle overlooking the town with a great restaurant and splendid rooms. Not the cheapest place to stay but very good value nonetheless. We will certainly stay again one day

The parador is beautiful with great atmosphere. The room, on the other hand, are disappointing. The one we got needs renovation, and quickly. The patio of the parador is excellent for an afternoon coffee or tea. Dinner is a little bit expensive for what you get, but the restaurant and service is compensating. As for the breakfast - the price...

Tucked away in a rather obscure part of the mid-western province of Cåceres, we had planned to spend our first night in Spain here, en route to Portugal. Due to missed flights and lost baggage, we spent two wonderful days in this peaceful spot. Our room was delightfully simple but comfortable, with decent views and comfy beds. Dining staff and...

This is a gorgeous old palace of a place, with impressive stone walls, parapets, and a lovely main courtyard on the front of the building, where we enjoyed post-cycling drinks in the evening. The pool was unfortunately closed for the season (unlike at some of the other paradors we stayed at during this cycling trip) , although it looked lovely....

Jarandilla de la Vera is a fantastic place to stay as being a twelth centuary castle shows how people lived in olden times. It has been brought into the 21 centuary by na excelente team without loosing its identity.
