Sielen Diva had amazing hospitality! Nothing was ever too much trouble. Our room was impeccable and had incredible views across the Indian Ocean, this meant it was very peaceful with just a slight melody of waves.
We were given unlimited free water refills (this was the only hotel in Sri Lanka that we stayed at who did this). Plus, to cool us down we were offered several homemade ice lollies throughout the day.
What was great about this place was that it felt like you had all the necessary home comforts with the hotel perks with its laid back and modern feel. We also loved the fact that there was a games room, full of games, pool table, darts and weights/yoga mats! You can really tell so much thought has gone into everything here by the Kumar family.
The hotel is PLASTIC FREE - which is an absolute bonus! All shampoo/condition and body wash is in reusable containers.
The location is the perfect distance from galle, around 15 minutes by car and nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of galle without being far at all. Easy for day trips.
The food was amazing and the chefs always came out to talk us through anything they had made, which was a lovely touch. Everything was so fresh and made to order. You could request things off the menu and they would see if they could source it fresh for you before evening time came. This would involve the local fisherman daily coming to the hotel beach with fresh catches of the day. Breakfast was spot on, the choice of breakfast is varied with even an option of avocado on toast. Plus we had the best bread in Sri Lanka here, it was freshly baked everyday and served with homemade mixed fruit jam which I wish I’d taken some away with me!
I can’t emphasise how great this place was. The most amazing stay in Sri Lanka, thanks Sielen Diva for the most wonderful time. We hope to be back!! Thanks to the Kumars and Sielen Diva family.

My wife and I were invited to Sielen Diva by friends who are very familiar with the property and visit regularly. The beautiful modern property is set back away from the road and closer to the beach. With a large garden between the villa and the road, you are totally insulated from traffic noise and have a wonderful feeling of privacy. The Villa is focused on capturing the incredible views of the ocean from an elevated vantage point, and the beach in front of the property feels very private and safe.
The food was excellent, as was the service. The Chef and the staff at the property were always happy to go the extra mile to accede to every request.
The rooms are very very large, very comfortable and well appointed, with beautiful modern bathrooms and of course more stunning views of the ocean! I particularly loved the big rain shower.
The location is also very convenient on Mihiripenna beach in Thalpe, close to Unawatuna, with Galle Fort only a stone’s throw away, and conveniently close to the Galle highway exit.
In my view this is the ideal property to escape to with family and friends, as there is lots to do in the privacy of the property itself, and if staying longer, it’s the perfect base from which you can explore the neighboring area and the south coast.
Although we only spent the weekend there on this visit, I am looking forward to returning with my family for a longer stay.

Where do I begin? This hotel is breathtaking. The design, service, FOOD and location. I stayed in the Musikaya room, on the first floor with sea-facing views/ baths every morning, Also nice small touches like the slippers and open dresser area. The chef is phenomenal, I had a great prawn kottu, avocado salad and amazing breakfast choices. The location is in Thalpe between Unawatuna and Ahangama, what I liked about this is that it was an 8 min tuk tuk ride to the best yoga studio in the south (IMO) Sri Yoha, a fantastic fitness retreat centre; Makahiya fitness and the bustling bars/towns of Unawatuna/Ahangama, while also being in its own serene beachfront location. Another thing to note is there are many tuk tuks outside the hotel so getting around is not an issue. I WILL return here. Special shout out to Boss Man George :) and Laskshita. Nothing was too much hassle. THANK YOU!!

On arrival to this beautiful location we were greeted by Mr Chandana the hotel manager . He was very friendly and professional. Assisted by Mr Sujeewa they both made our stay enjoyable. We stayed in the Yanai suite which is Tamil for the elephant suite . It is difficult to choose a room in this exclusive hotel as each has a different speciality. The aliya suite was more spacious but the yanai has a amazing view . The food here is scrumptious. The chef Mr Yasotharan catered to our every delight .The highlight would have to be the srilankan tiffin lunch and the srilankan breakfast which were tastefully decorated but even the other meals of five star quality. The hotel is not very busy , this enabled us to truly feel at home and breathe in the atmosphere. The beach is just within walking distance. I am looking forward to travel here on my next holiday.

Our visit to galle was rendered magnificent by our stay at this most amazing boutique hotel called Sielen Diva. Right from the amazing modern building which allows the uninterrupted view of the ocean from both the ground floor extending into the infinity pool to the undulating garden culminating into the ocean the view is again resonated from our first floor suite with floor to ceiling glass in a minimal setting high ceilings, wooden floors and again in the bathroom where you can enjoy the sunset reclining in your private bathtub with the very same unbelievable view. The staff is not only polite but always there to fulfill your every need before you think of it , we were welcomed by Chandana (the manager) , accompanied by Sudeera (the villa supervisor), upon request we had the chef Nishantha whip up an incredibly fresh and sumptuous(Sri Lankan) meal which can be requested as a breakfast on other days as well by Yasho the sous chef , the rest of the staff subodh , tharindu the room boys wasantha , nishantha , Sumith and malinda comprise the tight and super efficient team that ensure that you go back with memories of a lifetime, We cannot give this property enough stars and would return again and again and possibly recommend this property over any others ( we saw many ) in the region of galle , Sielen Diva is modernity meets cultural etiquette meets gastronomic brilliance all in one , we have had an incredible experience and plan to return many a time to this jewel we have discovered and recommend to all to reside in, Sielen Diva in Talpe is one in a million and possibly the only of its kind #villasielendiva

Firstly, the sielen Diva team were very helpful in booking and organizing a level 1 secure stay including transfer from airport which was very safe in terms of covid precautions. On arrival, the hotel and its facilities were exactly like the photos, really beautiful and stylishly finished. All covid measures were in place and it felt very safe. We got a test pretty much immediately and they were very good at adhering to covid protocols. Stayed in garden level suite for 5 days which is very big and has it's own outside space but we then moved to the upstairs suite which had an unforgettable view of the Indian ocean. Both rooms were to high standard, very clean and excellent AC. The food here prepared by chefs yasodaran chaundana was expectations. Good variety and quality.sri Lankan curries were exceptional and plentiful. The western food was also of high standard, maybe portion of potatoes on side were a bit but we're Irish and love potatoes😂😂 we even got fresh fish from the beach 10 metres away. Lastly to the tremendously kind and thoughtful staff of sielen Diva who provide excellent service and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The manager Mr chandima was extremely helpful with any request. The wider team in sielen diva including thiliha, isura and chaminda were exceptional and so kind. Overall we highly recommend this hotel and only wish we could come back again.

We spent our 14-day quarantine in Sielen Diva and were totally surprised by the loving hospitality. It was the perfect place to relax and to gather new energy for the further journey.
First we were in the Monara room for a few days and then switched to the Mayil room, which is even quieter and more private. The rooms are very clean, nicely decorated and have huge bathrooms with rain showers.
The beach is often so lonely that it seems like a beautiful private beach. There are some rocks right in front of the hotel, but you can swim a few meters to the right in the sea.
The delicious food and the friendly and competent cook, who prepared an incredibly delicious aubergine curry and responded to all requests, were especially great. Ideally suited for vegetarians.
We'd love to come back anytime, not just for quarantine.

I engaged into e-conversations in view to confirm my booking at this villa in March 2021 but I am glad that I didn’t confirm the booking.
I engaged into e-mail exchanges with Priyanka Kumar and V. U Kumar, who manage the villa and the reservations. I think we exchanged more than ten emails. I have been asking numerous questions in the emails in order to have a clear picture of the facilities and services offered by the villa, and to clear any other related queries prior to my stay. Priyanka Kumar has been responding to my queries.
I was on the verge of making the payment to book my stay but eventually, I had to choose another 5-star hotel for several reasons. I wrote a humble email to Priyanka Kumar to advise her that I shall not be proceeding with the booking.
To my biggest disappointment, I received a response from U V Kumar on 11 March 2021 stating “We expected this anyway” and that’s all. I was utterly shocked by such an unprofessional and discourteous approach. I replied back, in order to explain U V Kumar that when a person decides to confirm or not to confirm a booking in his villa, the person must be treated with dignity and respect. Priyanka Kumar then bounced back with a long justification, and mentioning that they have experience in this domain and they know who will confirm or not confirm a booking. I found this unacceptable.
When I was in Sri Lanka, I explained this incident to other hotel managers and hospitality experts and they all strongly condemn this approach.
I have no objection in sharing the said email exchanges with those who might be interested to read through.
Based on such a disrespectful, unprofessional and discourteous of the villa, I strongly advise people not to opt for this villa.

Dear Mr Kevin Keenoo, Firstly before we address each one of your misrepresented facts, we would like to state that we are too more than happy to share the email exchanges with anyone and this will establish the facts. The facts are as follows. On March 10th, you sent us an email requesting for our room rates to which we responded to that day itself providing you with full information on our villa including food, accommodation, facilities, rates and requirements by the Sri Lankan authorities for your quarantine. In addition to that we had to respond to many emails with over 30 questions. You will appreciate that we answered every one of your questions politely and in a timely manner as confirmed by you. To the extent that we even answered questions on the costs of coffee, tea and juice. You stated that laundry should be included in a ‘full board’ package and we explained that laundry is not included but is charged at cost by a third party launderer. On March 11th, after we had supplied you with all the required information for you to arrive in Sri Lanka, you sent us an email stating that you had read online that the 14-day mandatory quarantine was not mandatory and guests could choose to leave after the 3rd or 4th day. You wanted us to confirm this. We responded and informed you that we were not aware of any such changes to the 14-day quarantine. In fact at that time, it was still mandatory. We advised you that if you were unsure to contact the Sri Lankan authorities. Mr Keenoo, we also offered you an upgrade to our Suite. You mentioned that your wife and yourself are vegetarians and our Chefs started preparing a 14-day menu specially so you would be spoilt for choices. You confirmed your booking and asked us to send an invoice and payment link. You subsequently asked us to amend the invoice twice as you wanted it in a specific format to present it to your employer for reimbursement. We had to send a number of payment links which kept expiring and eventually we had to inform you that we could no longer hold the room if payment was not received. Only then did you inform us that you found an alternative accommodation to which we responded saying we expected this as each payment link we sent was ignored. We wished you a pleasant stay in Sri Lanka and were happy you found a hotel better suited to you. It is unfortunate that you are able to unilaterally mispresent facts and are attempting to affect our business. We are sorry that you felt the need to write us a terrible and false review. Because of the situation the hotels in Sri Lanka have strict restriction to accommodate guests. In this Hotel you will feel like in the paradise. This hotel is the best hotel we had seen for long time. The staff are respectful, friendly, helpful and they give all information about rules and behavior for corona pandemic in their country. The view from the infinity pool is really awesome. You have a great look at the Indian Ocean. If you need a rest - Sielen Diva is perfect. If you have any wish they do their best for make true.
The food, meals and drinks are wonderful, tasty and special expierence for your senses. The chef Yasotharan care perfect for his guest. He makes individual meals for your own taste. If you had some allergies he asks you when you arrival. We had never eat such a good (Sri Lankian / Indian) meal. After every meal he ask if was everything okay and give some information about the meal.
For special questions and problems the manager Chindima is caring about individual and fast. All staff from the team give their best to make you a wonderful expierence.
They work according to the corona rules and pay attention to compliance.
Despite the rules due to the pandemic, nothing is missing. you can hear the waves of the sea, visit the private beach at any time, relax in the pool, use the play room or just relax and escape from everyday life.
The room is clean, with a high quality furniture and best view to the ocean.
It was pleasure to stay in holiday with this wonderful people at this beautiful place.

We found this place on agoda and went drove there before booking the place cause the pictures were too good for the price so we wanted to check it out ourselves first. But have to tell you the place was more breathtaking and photos cannot do justice. The owners of the place were extremely sweet and helpful. The Staff was FANTASTIC. Everyone from Sunidhi to Hasantha, Isuru and Dilan were extremely sweet. To top it they set up a private dinner for us and the Chef's Yaso and Chanminda were amazing!! We delayed our dinner from 8 to 10 pm and they patiently waiting and got our custom 4 course meal nice and warm to us. Since the place has limited rooms, food is freshly cooked based on our requirements. This place was like heaven a perfect break my husband and I needed.
