What a change this hotel is now. Bright, clean and homely. Staff are absolutely fantastic, nothing too much bother. Restaurant is great. Breakfast was unbelievable. Will be back, hopefully when the weather gets a bit warmer. Only criticism is room 1 is very cold so we would ask for another one.

Unfortunately our visit was marred by a christmas party with our room directly over the band. We could not use our room until 11.30pm due to the volume of the band. I also believe that the standard of the food was also affected. Hotel has been finished to a good standard, lots of potential once they find their market. Great...

Hi Rockb60, sorry your visit was "marred" by a Christmas party. Im soor our food wasn't up to your standards, this had nothing to do with the party. We do advertise live music on our Website every Friday and Saturday night, and can only apologise for keeping you up so late. We will make sure to make guests aware that...

I visited the hotel with my husband on a sunday afternoon around 3.30. We choose the christmas dinner at £27.50. We ordered the prawn cocktails which were completely bland. The lettuce was in huge chinks and the whole dish was freezing cold as it had obviously been in the fridge for a long time. Added in was a half boiled...

Hi 2066, thank you for reviewing our hotel. Sorry that your meal wasnt what you were expecting. For cold starters such as Prawn cocktails, all ingredients are kept refridgerated, this should be standard practice in all restaurants, its a first time we have had a complaint about prawn cocktail being cold. i apologise if your vegetables were overcooked, and im...

Today we travelled to meet family in our home town of Portaferry and had lunch in the hotel. We had such a lovely afternoon there. This hotel has it all, the perfect location, great food and staff, and top quality friendly service.

We had a delightful stay at the elegantly decorated Portaferry Hotel. The room was full of tasteful antiques and a sumptuous bed with luxurious linens. The price of the room also included a wonderful Irish breakfast which kept us going for the entire day. We enjoyed our dinner there the night before as well. The owner of the hotel was...

We have dined in this restaurant a few times under the previous management and always enjoyed the experience, however on this occasion we feel the service and food fell below usual standards. Our table was not prepared in advance and the waiter rushed the preparation of the table, the taking of the order was rushed and drinks were very slow...

Visiting from Australia, I spent a few days at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view overlooking the lough. The hotel location facilitated access to the Strangford ferry. I loved the dining experience, especially the duck. Best of al were the staff. We arrived for lunch and asked for toasted sandwiches. We had beautiful turkey and ham. They were super thick and came with a few chips which were delicious.
