The pictures don't do this place justice. Rosemary is a gem! Room and bathroom was clean and comfortable, and the views are GORGEOUS! My advice if you stay there: bring earplugs because the seagulls wake up early and want you to, too!!!

If you are driving a car, location is good and quiet, near the sea, only 5 minutes driving to Victoria. I didn't like the decoration at all. In our room, kind of "Moulin Rouge" decoration, I counted at least 35 red items (towels, napkins, curtains, tissues, furniture, etc. etc., all RED, a bit of a red nightmare. The whole house... More

Arrived tired and stressed; left 4 days later feeling calm and happy. What a beautiful peaceful place. I had the distinct impression that is was important to the owner that our stay was perfect. I wasn't feeling very chatty and she seemed to pick up on this and back away. She was sincere in her efforts to stock the room... More

Rosemary is an incredible host, very welcoming and kind. We had issue with our booking made through booking.com and we should have stayed for two nights and at the end we only stayed one night. This issue was due to a misunderstanding and while booking.com did not provide assistance at all, Rosemary was on the other hand very comprehensive and... More

I was in transition in December of 2012 and stayed at Denniston By the Sea for three months, during that time I truly enjoyed breathtaking views of the ocean, clean and cozy private room which truly was my haven for those three months. Since then, because where I am living isn't condusive to guests, I have booked numerous friends there... More

My weekend at Denniston's was very special. The atmosphere is so relaxing, the view is gorgeous, the host is so very, very friendly and the accomodations are clean, modern and stylish. The Safari room was beautifully appointed and cozy and comfortable. The rates are affordable and worth every cent. My new favorite place to stay in Victoria! I especially liked... More

Denniston by the Sea was the last B&B of our tour of Alberts and BC, and what a finale! The view from the sitting/dining room across the water to the USA and Vancouver Island was matched the view from our bedrooms: just breathtaking. The decor of the public and private rooms was in style with the house, sitting at the... More

As the planner of our honeymoon, it was important I make the lodgings and meals as special as I knew how. And as a B&B veteran of many years, and a prior visitor to Victoria, I knew the town boasts of many fine such establishments. But Rosemary and her Denniston By The Sea set a new gold standard for me... More

Perched on a rock cliff directly on the water. We stayed for 2 nights in the Safari Room overlooking the Straights of Juan de Fuca and a small harbour. Very well decorated and featured room with a great views from both windows. A large TV/DVD combination and a refridgerator well stocked with bottled water and soft drinks were a welcome... More
