Our trip was mainly to experience the harsh Canadian winter away from the city. Fortunately there we experienced the coldest night of the season. It was a very pleasant experience and definitely something to remember and cherish. The lodge is around 30 in hike from the parking lot. The wilderness around the lodge makes it special. There are no mobile...

Thank you for your nice review. The Family Day long weekend was the coldest weekend of the year, with temperatures dropping to -38C (without wind chill!). The electric heaters we have , that run off the power we create from the waterfall, combined with the large woodstove are quite capable of keeping the building cozy at -30C. For the few...

It was so rejuvenating to spend three days at the Algonquin Eco-Lodge in March. We decided to ski from the parking lot to the Eco-Lodge which took us 25 minutes. We chose to have our luggage picked up and taken to the lodge which was a good idea because it's a long walk/ski if you're carrying heavy bags. On the...

What a find! Our family (2 adults, 12-year old and 9-year old) had a great time exploring the x-country trails, which we had all to ourselves. Just the right amount of challenge for our group, and Arianne gave us excellent advice on routes, difficulty, and times. Then whenever we got back to the Lodge, there were delicious and plentiful meals...

It was so nice to get back in touch with the great outdoors...it was nice to unplug my cell phone and tv with all the activities and scenery the area provided I never missed them. What I was impressed with the most is how Robyn transformed the lodge into a self sustaining eco environment utilizing nature as a renewable source...

New to this kind of experience, we were warmly welcomed into the Eco-Lodge by the owner and his employees. The compound lies in a remote place deep into the Algonquin woods, next to a beautifull lake. We could enjoy hiking with the guides learning about the forest lifecycle and history, as well as coming across animals trails. After the day,...

Great stay, really interesting place - communal meals with other guests, outside river stream to cool your beverages, and a hot tub powered by a waterfall! We took the canoes out for the day and enjoyed paddling around with short portages required. Great showers and communal space. Note: there is a dog there if that's an issue for you.

In many ways Algonquin Eco Lodge is outstanding. It is beautiful. The lake blew my mind. With the Fall leaves it was stunning in the sunshine, the twilight, the mist, or at any time. The lodge itself is rustic and fits perfectly in the environment. There is a log fire inside which is lovely to warm yourself by. The rooms...

We spent 5 days at the Algonquin Eco-Lodge on their volunteer program this September and had a fantastic stay. Our work tasks included stacking firewood, helping out with deck repairs, cooking and serving meals, and doing the dishes. It was fun to see how the lodge functioned from the inside-out, and Robin did a great job balancing our tasks with...

A friend and I stayed at the Eco-Lodge in mid-late May this year. We did two days as an "Eco-Warrior" followed by the four day "voyaguer". The Eco-warrior is an offer of half price, in return for some work. They had a very casual approach to the idea of us actually doing the work, but we helped them take some...

If you're into the wilderness and life off the grid, this is the place. You'll eat well. You'll sleep well. And you'll be in the middle of one of the world's greatest wilderness areas. Lots to do, but if you just want to sit and enjoy the peace of your surroundings, you can do that too. Getting to the lodge...
