Given the value for money I would have loved to give this place 5/5. However, there is room to improve communications at booking time and also with arriving and departing guests. The hotel is at a top location in the centre of town, but can't be reached by car when there is fiesta. It should be possible to let guests...

The best place to enjoy an appetizer and great wine with a friend! Owners are winners of culinary awards. This hotel has the ambiance of colonial Colombia combined with all the modern comforts. Centrally located on the most beautiful street in Popayán.

I stayed on May 31/2015 The hotel is well situated, staff very helpful, clean rooms and very good food. The down side is the old fashioned decoration. You feel in a scary movie. Angel faces looking down at your bed. Red archaic curtains. Old furniture. I know they want to give a classic feeling to the place, but a little...

Pictures in webpage looked wonderful. A wide angle lens can show unreal marvels. Hotel very expensive for services received. Lighting of room very poor. No telephone in room. Only in bathroom. No safe box. Hotel very old. Nice being 1/2 block of main plaza

The hotel has small, pleasant comfortable rooms. They are kept very clean, cozy and in the inner areas they are quiet. The staff is very friendly. What I think is an unknown fact is how good the restaurant of the hotel is. In such a small city, I think it is good even at international standards. Even if you are...

Stayed here for 2 nights and was very surprised at how nice it was. Comfortable & Clean. Restaurant was good and the staff was very attentive. The only downside is that the neighborhood is very, very noisy. Horses click clacking down the cobblestone street, Cars with loud music blasting and it almost sounded like a marching came down the street...

We stayed here mostly because of the restaurant (read separate review) and the price was decent. The room was clean but extremely noisy, between the traffic and a very old fridge. Perhaps the interior rooms would not have been so noisy. The water in the shower is lukewarm, certainly not somewhere where you want to stay for longer than necessary...

I agree with most of the reviews here except on one point: price. At over 100 US$ a night, this was ridiculous. The monastery had the same price (their web site only, not anywhere else like despegar) and many on trip advisor complain about the monastery's price! (The reason we did not book there was a communication error; if we...

The pro's - Absolutely beautiful architecture and interior design. Whitewashed walls, ornate decorations, massive wooden armoir. Definetly captures the feeling of colonial splendour that old Popayan has. - Room size. My room with french balcony was easily the largest room that I had in Colombia. Almost had to strain to see the TV at the other end of the room....
