From the moment we arrived the staff was warm, kind, energetic and treated us like treasured guests. Every staff person greets you with a warm "hola" or "bueno dias" and a smile. The lobby, grounds and rooms are immaculate and truly beautiful. We booked an Excellence Club Junior Swim-Up Suite and it was exactly what we had hoped. It felt private but also had great access to all other services. It also has a partial view to the beach. We were never far away from drink service and had an amazing server, Jinsi, that served us on our back deck. It was amazing being able to be in our own section of pool right out our back door! I was also pleasantly surprised at how the ease of the COVID test onsite. Appointments for the test were booked at check in. We arrived at our appointments (onsite at the resort) and it took a total of 15 minutes and we received our results the same day. The resort also prepared all the required paperwork for our return trip. The COVID test was so easy and efficient that it did not detract from our amazing trip. The location of Excellence El Carmen is ideal. It is a 45 minute drive from the airport and located in a more private part of the island. The beach and ocean were not crowded and the resort provides very comfortable lounge chairs and beach service so you can simply enjoy paradise. You never have to go far for either food or drink. The resort is laid out so well that you can always find what you need without going far. Highly recommend Aroma for snacks, desserts and excellent coffee and tea drinks. Restaurants were all excellent. Highly recommend taking your next vacation to Excellence El Carmen. A special 'shout out' to a number of staff people that made our stay special. There’s no words to describe the amazing weekend we had at Excellence El Carmen, since our arrival to departure everything was beyond excellent, just perfect. We were a group of nine having 5 rooms in different buildings all of them extraordinary clean and comfy, the mini bars and room service were super efficient, also the waiters and waitress of the different areas were always checking if we needed something, special thanks to Danny from the pool area and Carmen from the beach, also thanks to Delvis from Oregano restaurant who made sure that we eat properly during our stay, even when we were too busy drinking at the pool. Sunday night we had a special dinner for the group hosted by the chef Frankelly Castillo himself, we had no ideas of the menu, he just asked if we have allergies (thanks god we don’t) and guided us to a celestial culinary experience, we ate so much and so delicious that we clean every dish, thanks to Felix, Yoel, Eliezer, Palma and all the staff from the Excellence Club and Magna Restaurant. Thanks to housekeeping for having our rooms and areas always clean. Thanks to my people, Nicolas Ramos, Ibhar Vargas, Joel Santana, Mario Santana, Marlon, Alexander P., Wilquin Brito, Alejandro Aguilar, they made this wonderful experience even better. I have to recognize security people and his manager mr. Ramón because at all time we felt safe and without worries of letting our belongs at the beach beds and chair longs, that’s because we always saw security people around. Concerning to the global situation because of the Pandemic of Covid -19 I have to say that the hotel is fully signposted with information of how to wash’s your hands, the 6ft distance, tables are apart and they have safety kits all over the place (as you can see in pictures). This is a place WHERE YOU CAN FEEL SAFE AS HOME. Last but not least I have to thank to Mr. José Luis Piz and Mr. Felix Sánchez for ensure a welcoming, loving, and amazing experience, we will be back soon! Dominican Republic has it all, and you can feel safe to travel to Excellence El Carmen where they make sure that you have it all. I wanted to thank all the wonderful staff at the Excellence Resort, Wilquin Brito our amazing bell boy Eric , from the excellence club Sosa , and Kioman, our entertainment La Shaky Shaky our bartender Edgar and his friend who also entertained us Juan Manuel , everyone was so welcoming will be def coming back with the family. We had a great time celebrating our friend's 40th at Excellence El Carmen in February of 2021. The staff were amazing-special shout-out to Checky-Checky with the Entertainment Team, Palma for the great wine selections, Sonya at the spa was the BEST EVER, and to Danny Boy and Carmen for the poolside service. It was an amazing long weekend filled with the best memories!

This was a last minute trip that my wife and I decided to take upon recommendation from a travel agent as we wanted to get away from the cold. We could not have been more pleased with this suggestion as the service was fantastic from the second we arrived at the resort to the time we left. The facility was well taken care of and I will be staying here again when we decide to come back.
