We found this place from the internet, after some exchange email asking about the trip, we decided to take 3 nights package with 2 days diving, 3 dives per day.
The lodge is quiet new, we totally love it, no complain at all. Good room,...More
This resort definitely has potential, but isn't quite there yet. The entire resort was recently rebuilt, and the design is great. Rooms are very spacious and well-equipped, and we were impressed at the artsy detail. Unfortunately, the dark walls, dark room, and high ceilings really...More

Most divers fly from Balikpapan to Tanjung Redeb and then arrange with the dive resort to pick them up and take them the rest of the way by minibus and boat. If that's outside your budget, or you are thinking of staying in the village rather than the resort, then try contacting the person who runs the backpackerborneo website for advice. He/she does speak English. There are buses via Samarinda to Tanjung Redeb, but I'm not sure of details. I suspect the total journey will be around 15 hours or more even if you get good connections
