I have stayed there 4 times over the last couple of years. It is a nice family place, with first class accommodations and service. They don't do breakfast, but I will take the lower price and get my own breakfast. Maid service is very good, and the owners handle special requests quickly and happily. This is always my go-to hotel...

This is a great location and price for this area of Berkeley. The room was not fancy but adequate and with a comfortable bed. Free on site parking. There are not really any amenities to speak of. The bathroom was ok and the rooms quiet. No breakfast or gym or pool. A basic room for s good prce.

I travel to Berkeley about once a year. I've stayed at all the other hotels that are close by the UC Campus, but the prices are pretty high for what you get. Took a chance on the Downtown Berkeley Inn on my latest trip and have no regrets. I appreciated the heads-up from other travelers about the shin-killing bed frames....

Beautifully planned development. Designed for my convenience. Tastefully decorated. Comfortable beds, comfortable storage. Good security. Very Conveniently located. Every detail was meticulously thought through. The staff was flexible for late arrivals and re issued cards (our fault and they fixed it with a smile). They gave good directions. This was a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend it. Super clean....

I went to this hotel during a training in Berkeley, it is very well located, like it's name says in Dowtown. Two blocks away From Shattuck avenue and four o five blocks away from bart dowtown Berkeley station. Rooms are simple and basic, it had all the basic. It looked old but clean, there was not a safety box, nor...

This hotel has some good, but also bad features. Depending on what is important to you, this could be a great deal. The main feature of this hotel is the low relative price for the area. But there were a few problems. The WiFi worked intermittently and slowly, so kept getting knocked off of it. Don't think you could count...

This is now my go-to hotel in the East Bay. Why? It's a few short blocks to many East Bay bus routes, BART, and all of downtown Berkeley's delicious restaurants. And because the DBI has free off-street parking, I can safely leave my car while I do my thing. And it's only a hundred bucks a night! For me, those...

Good location, near the Berkeley public library and Shattuck avenue with many restaurants and the campus within walking distance. Limited off street parking, though overnight is free on the street. The renovated room was adequate, with a large television and individual room AC units. The wifi was a bit wonky, and the door would not allow engagement of the deadbolt....

Stayed here during a Cal event. Very convenient (uphill) walk to campus, and it's about the most affordable hotel near the south side of campus. Check-in was friendly, but the room we had was pretty shabby with lots of scuff marks on the wall, etc. Never got the wifi (free) to work reliably. Worst part was getting a first floor...

Average hotel close to the university, BART, various restaurants. A little from the main streets, but still quite a lot of noise in the morning. Quick check-in, check-out. Definitely not a boutique hotel, but OK to stay on a business trip for a few nights. Bathroom was spacious, with a tub.
