Let's face it, this isn't a five star resort and one should not expect one. The beds were well worn and the couch wasn't the best, but for a rustic cabin in big bear, it was fantastic. The kitchen is fully stocked (ok, there were only 2 steak knives) but had other essentials. Staff was friendly and it being the...

Stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage with my wife and our adult daughter and her partner. Very quite even though we were near the road. Not far from good restaurants and make sure you visit the micro brewery. All in all a relaxing time was had. We visited in August

My husband and I stayed in the Doe cabin with the largest jacuzzi tub I have seen outside of Las Vegas! It was small but cute, and had everything we needed for a little getaway. The bed was super comfy with lots of cozy blankets; the staff was friendly; and it was peaceful and quiet. I like that Grey Squirrel...

Our family has stayed at the Grey Squirrel since the 1960s. We decided to get our families together and stay for a mini reunion. We rented the Coyote. What a disappointment. Couch smelled like throw up. Beds were terrible quality. No coffee maker in the cabin. No fire in the fire pit as advertised. Stairs aren't up to code. Had...

We spent 4 nights in the Cougar cabin (2 adults and 3 kids). The kitchen had a good amount of supplies and utensils. The bathroom was updated and all the rooms had a TV. The fireplace was by far my favorite and was the centerpiece of the living room. I would have liked a newer sofa. I think tit was...

I've been going to The Grey Squirrel since my kids were little, then with my daughter, then with my husband and our dogs, and recently by myself. I guess they have changed owners because the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel came out of a 99 cent store! Ladies, BEWARE, bring your own shampoo! The grounds are beautiful. I will definitely...

I am not sure why this facility is getting good reviews. Especially the person who recently stayed in the Chipmunk Cabin. It makes me wonder if some of these reviews are written by the staff. I really did not want to write a bad review for the Grey Squirrel. But, I felt it important to warn others. My father and...

I decided that this would be a great getaway for me and my family, and I am most pleased with my decision! We rented a cabin for me and my family of 4 and the cabin had more than enough room for all of us. The area around us had various activities including a volley ball net and even a...

There was a nice sized living space to accommodate our 4 adults and toddler. There's a small play set outside for our 2yo, plus set up for tetherball, basketball, volleyball, & BBQs. I was surprised that the staff came in and made the beds while we were out - nice touch that other cabin rentals we've stayed in didn't do....

2nd visit to the cute little enclave of cabins in Big Bear. We always go during the week, this time in June to enjoy the mountains and go off roading. We stayed in the "motel" type room and it's cute, cozy but in need of an update. The 3 nights for the price of 2 is very reasonable, the staff...
