Our second trip to the Strawhouse coincided with the thanksgiving holidays. Don and Julie put on a dinner for the staff, local residents and the guests. November on the trinity? Yes, it rains; just means the coffee is all the more enjoyable in the cafe after a walk in the snow or along the river The food is great and...

We stayed 2 nights and while our room did not have internet or TV, we asked for chess set and they delivered. We also requested a hair dryer and they brought. Even though they open st 700 AM we explained we need to meet our guide at 645AM and owner said no problem. He made coffee and egg / bagel...

The owners make your stay most pleasant. The Strawhouse, cabins and yurt are all nicely furnished and very clean. Attention to detail is everywhere. The setting on the river is lovely. They serve breakfast and lunch items; many organic and vegetarian options. Dinner is by pre-arrangement. Everything we had was very good! Try it!

Stayed at the yurt and the place was unique. Although it is across the street away from the river, it was still nice. There's no tv or cell phone signal at all so it's very outdoors. It forces you to enjoy the nature around you. There's a bbq pit and a small local store where you can purchase junk food...

Fantastic modern compact cabin with living room and wrap around porch over looking the river. We slept 4 with our 16 and 19 yr. old sons sleeping in comfortable beds in the loft. Food at Resturant is great. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Kitchen is well stocked. We were able to put our kayaks in right in front of...

Got some mocha coffee, plus a bag of Peru beans to go. Both excellent. Great place to stop when driving through from Eureka to Redding. Out in the middle of nowhere. Owner sunk a lot of money into making the place and surrounding area look great. Would have been neat to be there on a warm summer evening.

We stayed in the yurt for a weekend and had an amazing time. The yurt is fully furnished (it was meant to actually be a residence for one of their staff at one point) and is super comfortable. The loft area is very unique and is a great feature. While it is slightly noisy due to cars occasionally driving by...

We stayed at the yurt. Very comfortable with everything you need. Excellent location near Trinity river. We got to see a Bald Eagle. The owners are very nice. The cafe is great too! At night it's a bit noisy because of the highway, but not uncomfortable. A lot to do within a few miles each way. A great place to...

Breathtaking hideaway on the Trinity River away from the world even though it's on Rte 299! If you want to leave the world behind, this is your destination! My son and grandsons loved the weekend as much as I did. Don, Julia and their staff treat you as family and make sure you're comfortable and enjoying yourself. We'll definitely be...

Strawhouse Cafe and Coffee Roasters is the perfect site for a lunch on the Trinity River, with patio dinning featuring a fresh and organic eclectic menu. It is also an excellent stopping place for an espresso because Strawhouse is located midway between Redding, CA and the Pacific Ocean in the Arcata-Euricka area. The resort features adorable fully furnished cottages, some...
