The store and lunch counter at Rock Creek Lakes resort was a welcome find just before heading into the wilderness and upon leaving! Their lentil burger tasted amazing! And everyone that works there and the owners were super friendly! We appreciated their trail tips and beer selection!

Best pie I ever had in my life has now been discontinued because the pie maker retired. Please please someone get in there and have her teach you her skills so pie can continue!! We went up especially for a piece because of a referral from a fellow traveler we ran into at mammoth. I will go back up there...

Is it crazy to drive 10 miles up a mountain for pie? No! It would be crazy to drive past this and not stop. Every year it seems better and better. This year I chose the cheddar/pear... OMG! To die for. I am not a pie eater per say, but I am crazy about these Pie in the Sky delights....

I must admit at the start that I have been staying in the Resort cabins since I was a toddler, with my parents. And I knew the original owners, the Colbys and the Raiders. And, my grandfather knew them too. I remember when the Kings bought them out. The Kings were a young couple, newly married and younger than I....

Immaculate large cabin. Larger than we needed, and so more expensive, but really comfortable. Surprisingly well equipped kitchen, with everything I needed except...food! Please bring everything you need or want to eat, because store attached to resort has only minimal canned goods, milk, eggs etc. all very expensive and no fresh food at all. Cafe serves breakfast and lunch only....

I’ve been fishing Rock Creek Lake for many years, while camping down in French Camp. Even though I have every lure, fly, PowerBait, hooks, weights and anything else to fish for trout, I still like looking at their selection of fishing supplies even rods and reels. I know some will complain about the prices, so drive all the way down...

Just returned from my first trip to Rock Creek Lakes Resort. I was with 16 other middle aged women, on sort of a girls weekend. We like to hike and be outdoors. We were amazed by the scenery..the lakes are gorgeous, the trails are well maintained, the mountain peaks are spectacular, the trees beautiful, etc. etc. In fact, the Lakes...

Our visit to Rock Creek Lakes Resort was our 2nd. Their cabins are very clean, comfortable beds, and fully stocked with need appliances, cookware, and eating utensils. Exterior decks all have views among beautiful trees with abundant wildlife within view. Rock Creek Lake is just across the street with excellent fishing and boat rentals. The owners, the King family, also...

Rock Creek Lake resort is truly a mountains lovers paradise. The store has the best comfort food around and the apricot pie is simply unsurpassed! Room accommodations are basic but if you want a true mountain experience then that's ok, one is usually so busy by the time it's bedtime you simply slip off to sleep anyways. So many things...

I have stayed at Rock Creek Lodge in recent years but never at Rock Creek Lake Resort. I will be a regular at Rock Creek Lake Resort; the cabins are large and designed with more home appeal. Cabin 5 had separate rooms for the kitchen, living room and two well footed bedrooms. Outside the cabin was just as appealing with...

“All the cabins are great but likely everyone has their favorites. I have stayed in all of them.”

“I was in cabin 3 which I think is the largest, and it was great, clean, comfy, cozy for our needs. My other friends were in cabins 9 and 10, and their cabins were a little bit more modern - their cabinets were newer wood, etc (ours were metal). I think they are newer, they would be plenty big enough for a family of four or five. They are also at the top of the line of cabins and therefore a little more private. I never heard a peep from any other cabin, but that may have because of the sheer size of our own group. :-)”
