Old style English pub, lots of character, quirky, open fire, very welcoming with great local beers and very very good food at at very reasonable prices. We stayed one night - took two rooms which were both very clean and comfortable - and the staff were very polite, welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend. Short drive to Rochester which is a...

A traditional country pub offering an excellent menu, you may need to book on weekends given the popularity. B&B if you don't want to drive home! You may pay a couple of pounds over the odds, but it is out in the country, with a small local trade so I don't begrudge them that. The chef is excellent, this is...

We stayed 2 nights, Friday 30/09 and Saturday 01/10, as we were attending a wedding at Castle barn. We arrived very late with our 3 children and were given a lovely friendly warm welcome by the owner, staff and regulars. We loved the family room and our children slept very well. The breakfast was completely fantastic - cooked to perfection...

After spending 30 quid and 20 pence on drinks, we had to wait at least 15 minutes for change to be given to us (from £30 given) . Surely the best course of action is to just charge 30 quid and take 20p on the chin. Anywayyy the burger we received was Excellent. Very very good.. . But be sure...

We stayed here for a wedding and had the first floor double and twin rooms. The twin room has no ensuite and the double room had a blocked sink and a shower that dribbled on us. The double room smelt of damp and the rooms are so small you can barely walk round the bed. After dressing up for a...

This is a cute little B&B. Very close to Cooling castle (7 min walk). Super friendly staff and very good food. The rooms are basic but have everything you need. Went to a wedding in Cooling Castle, would definitely stay her again.

As seems to be quite common, we stayed at the Horseshoe as a result of a recent wedding we attended. We enjoyed our stay, the Manager was most welcoming and full of helpful info, nice chap. Pub itself was welcoming enough too and our breakfast the next morning was a full menu and a most enjoyable breakfast, with plenty of...

If you fancy a good English breakfast in nice surroundings take a trip to the Horseshoe & castle on a weekend. There's a big choice as well as the usual full English. A good treat on Sunday morning! Lashings of tea or coffee too.

“their are 3 rooms above the pub, which had the smell of an old pub and hundreds of years of cooking, Staying here conjoured up feelings of intrigue towards the vast history of this lovely old hotel. Hey but i have a really sensitive nose & nobody else noticed it. the rooms were very comfortable and included on suites in the 4 double rooms. There were also 2 detached rooms that featured lots of lovely timber construction, modern with lovely decor and my sisters thought they were fabulous too.”
