Thanks very much for the review. We hope you can stay with us again. Our summer and fall seasons are very nice with beautiful nearby lakes and fall colors.

This is a quaint, but clean hotel in a small but quiet town along 395. We stayed but one night and were please with both food and service. There are rooms in the hotel itself or in units attached alongside, we stayed in the hotel. Stairs are steep, but rooms are comfortable, clean and fully equipped.

Thanks for the review. Hope you can return sometime in the summer or fall seasons. This should be an exceptional year in the high country for wild flowers and fall colors.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying in the Mark Twain suite. No visits from the "White Lady" or Samuel Clemens, who both stayed in this room. Very "Old Time" furnishings and feel. TV in room, but no microwave, refrigerator, or coffee pot that I recall. The stairway up to the room is steep, but negotiable. They have a Bar and Restaurant in...

Thanks very much for the review. That "Old Time" atmosphere is exactly what we try to achieve. Our town and our area including the resorts at nearby lakes are very popular for generation after generation of guests that are pleased that things don't change in Bridgeport. Hope you come again during our summer and/or fall seasons.

The charm of Bridgeport escapes me. This goes for this motel as well. It is in dire need of renovation. I suspect that the owners are absentee and probably funnel just enough Jack back into the motel to keep it afloat, but not much more. Or, the motel does such brisk business during tourist season that it has developed a...

Thanks for the review. The owners do, in fact, live in Bridgeport and provide a healthy budget for repairs and improvements annually. Our small community with a history that dates back to the gold rush era is proud of the historic nature of the buildings and the hospitality offered to our guests. Most of the town closes for most of...

Stayed here for one night in the "motel" portion of this historic property. The motel has peeling wall paper, plastic fake wood paneling, old air conditioners - The beds are inner spring mattresses. This place needs a make-over really bad. The lighting in the room was poor. All compact fluorescent lights. The room was big, but no coffee pot, no...

Thanks for the review. Sorry you disliked the motel building. We do make improvements each year as the economic conditions allow. Hope you took advantage of our meal coupon and enjoyed our restaurant.

Ok, this is just a step up from camping. Shared bathroom, the cowboy room is very basic. Showers have hot and cold water but never in the right sequence :-) part of the cowboy treatment! Bar is good fun and food very decent. Service is family style, friendly...

Thanks for the review. We're never more than we claim. Cowboy rooms are not for everyone. We do have very comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, antique furnishing, and amenities upstairs in our historic hotel building. And, larger rooms with two queens or three doubles, all with private bathrooms and amenities in our motel building. Plus free parking, free Wi-Fi, and...

We just had a blast here! Make sure you accept what it actually is. It's a old historic hotel from 1877. The main area is still original. Hostel type of rooms, small cutely decorated with shared bathrooms. I live for experiences like this so it was fun to stop on a whim when we planned to camp that night. We...

pro: well they have clean rooms, a cool decorated bar and a dining room con: The place is loud! We had a terrible loud noise in the room .. couldn't find the source of it. It sounded like an air conditioning but it wasn't the one from our room since WE DID NOT HAVE ANY. The room was super hot,...

Thanks for the review. Some facts regarding the Historic Inn: Fine dining restaurant stays open until 10pm unless there are no customers; the bar stays open later if there are customers; sixteen rooms upstairs, 6 with bathrooms, air conditioning, TV, etc., 10 rooms are small, clean, cost less but do not have air or TV. We also have a fifteen...

The original hotel building was built in 1877 and the Motel looks like it was probably built in the 1950s. I stayed in the motel section. A room with 2 double beds. No room for more than that. The room was decorated in the 1950s style look but clearly much newer than that. Everything was updated and clean. The beds...

Thanks for the review. We do, in fact, work to keep our hotel in the gold rush era style as much as possible. The rooms upstairs in the historic hotel building are furnished with antiques. Our motel rooms have either two queen beds, or three double beds for larger groups. Hope you come again. Bob Peters, owner.
