Room was quiet and very clean. My wife enjoyed the antiques, but they seemed to me to serve no purpose. Had Wifi. Being so cold outside I would've liked coffee in the lobby. Would stay here again. Stayed the previous night in one of the other hotels in town that advertised a continental breakfast. With the cheaper price I'm ok... More

Absolutely THE MOST disgusting hotel I've EVER stayed in...large amount of yellow, crunchy body fluids dried on face towel with what looked like blood dots on it....nasty long black human hairs embedded in the cheap, worn, and mismatched bedding. The mattresses were so worn and stained they seriously looked like they were salvaged from a curbside illegal dump. There were... More

This hotel is the best option to have a quiet and restful night. Dont expect luxury, but convenience, beside, friendly and kind hostess. There is also and impressive collection of classic movies to enjoy.

Awful smelly shag carpet, tiny bathroom with no water pressure, no lamps by the bed to read by. I was quoted one price on the phone when I finally got through and spoke to a live person, and then the price magically changed when we went to check in at their business next door...a strange place and set up...we went... Very dirty and grimy, I would have slept in the car if I knew what this was like. I love and have spent years living a very rustic life style with no electricity or running water, but this place gives the word discusting a whole new meaning

This really is a step back in time and our visit was what we'd expected in terms of the decor, and based on previous reviews. We weren't prepared for the dirty state of the room though. Unfortunately it hadn't been cleaned at all, and for quite some time. I won't go into all the details but, suffice to say, I... More

I really hate giving bad reviews...but I did not like this hotel. The lobby of the hotel is decorated with items from Bodie and er some creepy stuff. The receptionist was rude and unapproachable. The stairs up to the room where wonky and one felt like it was going to give way. Our room is shown in the picture below.... More

My daughter & I deciced on a spur of the moment trip over Labor Day weekend. Taking the back way to Reno we came into Bridgeport, which was having a Founders Day event. Deciding to stay the night there & going to Bodie the next day our choice was to stay at the Bodie Hotel. Wow! What a step back... More

My husband surprised me with a trip to Bridgeport, for three nights, for our anniversary. Our trip did not start well..... nor did it end at this hotel. We pulled up and went inside the Bodie Hotel. It was very interesting in the "lobby", and I was looking for some information regarding the hotel itself and didn't see any. I... More

While the facts/accounting in this review are essentially correct, there is a great amount of embellishment, fabrication and omission that TripAdvisor readers should be aware of. First of all, our cancellation policy is clearly stated on our website and is restated personally at the time a guest makes a reservation. Many businesses have similar 24-hour cancellation policies. After being offered... More

My family of five (two parents and three adult children) stayed here one night before a Bodie road trip. This hotel was a perfect stop. The feeling of this old hotel that was actually brought down from Bodie in the 1880s before loading up in the car was irreplaceable. It is worth staying here just for the experience of sleeping... I really appreciate your review and you kind words. I love taking care of guests and treating people to the kind of experience you have described. Paula is a gem and I am so glad she came into my life. She has exactly the kind of hotelier ethic that I do and that is rare in this business. Thank you... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Bodie Hotel is a two-story Victorian era house reminiscent of buildings in the nearby mining town of Bodie. It's much like the boarding houses of the 1860s except each room had its own private bathroom with shower installed after being moved to Bridgeport. The rooms vary in size, some with a single bed and others featuring two beds. The black velvet wallpaper coupled with the shag carpeting really help make this boom town building unique. Reasonable rates range from $59.95 to $125 per night. The facility has wireless internet available. ... more   less
