Our family stayed at the Castle Inn for a night in October en-route to SF. Very easy to find just of Highway 1 and a simply amazing location along Moonstone Beach. Our room was very spacious and clean, although the bathroom could be a lot bigger for the size of the room. We opted for a second floor no pets...

Thank you for your review of Castle Inn. We are pleased to be able to offer a budget-friendly option for families staying in Cambria. The pool and hot tub are a big favorite and the large lawn is great for running around or enjoying the sunsets. We generally only have a limited number of pet rooms, but if for any...

Callie at the front desk was friendly and welcoming when we arrived late at night. Room was large and clean, no problem getting two queen size beds. We were very happy with our choice in this lovely town.

Thank you for your review of Castle Inn. Our staff is well-known for being extra helpful and very welcoming. We know how stressful it is to arrive late and just want to be checked in, so we love hearing that it was all as it should be.

The check-in process was fast and easy and the staff was very nice. The room is a bit small and dated, what I would call "Basic". There is no A/C but a space heater is in the room. The amenities were sufficient and the room was clean and comfy. A very good restaurant is located next door and a free...

Thank you for your review of Castle Inn. You might be surprised to learn we rarely need air conditioning! In fact, our annual temps average 60-70 and it rarely goes over 80. The Castle Inn is our most affordable option, but we maintain the same standards for cleanliness and comfort as our other properties. We are actually on the lower...

We found this place in an impromptu road trip to Cambria, they were the last place with vacancy! It was a very nice surprise. We don't regret staying here one bit! The room was clean and spacious, it smelled and looked clean, the pool and jacuzzi area was very quiet and relaxing, definitely would recommend it to anyone and will...

Thank you for your review of Castle Inn. We love hearing how people discover us, and how lucky that we had a vacancy! The location is very special, and Cambria is a delightful town. The Elephant Seals are just about 10 miles north of us so there is a lot to discover in the adjacent area.

Stayed here for two nights on our road trip, located right on the beach with the board walk along Moonstone Drive. Lovely views and sunsets. Two restaurants walking distance away but you need to drive into Cambria for more eating places. Pool towels available from reception and the room we had was bright and airy with a comfortable bed. Would...

Thank you for your review of Castle Inn. The village of Cambria also has really amazing shops and galleries, with fabulous shopping for unique items. As we have no chain stores, the creative locals share their wares directly to you. There is always more to discover so plan at least 2-3 days to really get it all in.

Located on the gorgeous Moonstone Bay about mile outside of Cambria, this inn offers comfortable accommodation. Rooms are comfortable, offering nice view of the sun setting over the ocean. No air con in our room but as we were travelling in October this was not a problem - we just opened the windows. Room was nicely furnished. Free wifi and...

Thank you for your review of Castle Inn. Sorry you had a bad exchange rate, that is never fun, but we hope it was worth the experience. This is a very special part of California that even a lot of native Californians haven't yet discovered. Hearst Castle is nearby but Cambria is well worth a trip of its own.

My wife and I have always enjoyed the fun, touristy town of Cambria, and especially staying at a motel on Moonstone Beach Dr. This was our first time at the Castle Inn, located right across the street from the ocean and being one of more than a dozen other motels/inns along the road. There is a boardwalk path directly across...

Thank you for your review of Castle Inn. We are happy to hear your first visit was a good one, it does sound like that was an ADA room. As Castle Inn was one of the first motels built here, it has some vintage qualities to it that are not easily updated. We have refreshed and updated and continue to...

This was the starting place for our trip up highway 1 and the California coast. Our 2nd floor corner room had a good view of the ocean from the balcony. Walked the boardwalk along the beach just steps from the motel. Could easily have spent a couple of days here if we had time. Restaurants in town close early. Room...

Cambria, middle of a roadtrip via highway 1, first stop. Loving town with loving people. Went with 2 friends and we loved it. Big rooms and bathroom, also very clean. The water from the shower was weak, I suspect it was because of the draught. Free breakfast and amazing view. Go across the road to see the sea otters. We...

You cannot beat this place for location right across from the moonstone beach . I had read great things so booked a ocean view room . Being along the end of the block you need to stand outside the door to get a ocean view . Luckily we were on the 2nd floor or you would not see the ocean...

Thank you for your review of Castle Inn. This is one of the original motels built on Moonstone Beach and has an awesome location across from the tide pools. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It was one of the very first motels built along the Cambria coast when cattle still roamed on Moonstone Beach Drive. The property boasts one of the best geographical locations on the beach. Right in front of the lodge are amazing tide pools to discover sealife, gorgeous lookouts, Leffingwell Landing Park and a wide-open beach upon which to stroll. The grounds at the Inn are broad and situated with comfortable sitting areas for enjoyable ocean viewing and people-watching. All of the guestrooms offer views of the ocean, but the upstairs rooms provide an excellent vantage point to watch the daily sunsets. The rooms at Castle Inn are simple but more than adequate to provide a wonderful stay at the beach. It is our intention to make the property one of the best values along Moonstone Beach and a great option for families. ... more   less
