Its a long and hard way to get there but its worth taking this adventure...We really enjoyed our stay. Its spacious, clean and beautiful located in the middle of nowhere but close to Rincon de la Veija. The only complaints we had was Dinner because the quality of the meat and fish could be improved but other than that we've...

It's important to manage expectations when visiting this place. There's no phone signal and the wifi is flaky and only available in the restaurant. The pools are green due to minerals and not algae/untidiness. However, there are so many other good things it doesn't matter. The cabins are great, really large... with a TV, fridge and safe. The restaurant menu...

Cabins were very large and clean but could of used more lighting, also found the sink and shower to have water savers with clogged aerators-we are plumbers so we took care of the one big problem we has and told three people and it still wasn't taken care of was problem with water heater. We had very hot water for...

We visited here for our honeymoon-we did the groupon deal for 3 nights but only ended up staying 2 nights. The pros: Beautiful Area, gorgeous well manicured and landscaped grounds, the gardens are awesome, so many different species of flora and fauna to check out all in one place! The cabin layout was spacious, meticulously clean, stylish and airy, the...

Beautful grounds and multiple warm mineral water pools where you can apply mud to yourself for a unique cleansing experience. The fauna and flora are exceptional and there are hummingbirds eveverywhere. Be aware that there are really no other eating options nearby and the restaurant can be hit or miss. Excursions are available although we chose to explore on our...

We spent two nights here in March. The stay was great. Rooms were clean and spacious. The hammock on the front porch was inviting and relaxing. Spent a day at the spa. Fantastic. Food was good but I am a picky eater. Did not take any of the trips but made some side trips on our own. Beautiful area. We...

As others have noted, this lodge is just far enough off the beaten path to make it an oasis away from the throngs of tourists! My wife and I rented a car and drove to Monteverde before driving here. The road to Monteverde is worse! We had no trouble getting to Blue River Resort and Spa. A large part of...

Much has already been said before: - difficult to get to (in US terms, but fairly consistent with reaching other remote Costa Rican destinations), however well worth the trip - friendly staff (Manuel was such a welcoming person in reception after the arduous drive, the wait staff in the restaurant are accommodating and friendly, and the caballeros taking care of...

We stayed at the blue river last week. We had a great time. The staff was very helpful and friendly. If we needed anything they would do it. They moved us to a different room because of the stairs. If we needed help they were there. Thank-you from the 3 of us.

We adored this place and can't say enough about the staff and accommodations as well as surroundings. The baths/pools were perfect. The grounds great for exploring flora and fauna and the tours immaculate. Luis was a great guide who went out of his way and Giovanni was a great horseman for the trek on horseback. The restaurant staff were great,...
