The Rancho us very authentic and the rooms are spacious and clean, but basic. Thin walls..... Kind staff, basic breakfast included. Well located, just outside Liberia, beautiful surroundings. Reasonably priced.

Had a lovely one night stay. Owner is extremely kind and helpful, told us he wanted us to think of it as our home. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, we really enjoyed the hammocks out in front as well as the howler monkeys out back that we were directed toward. We didn't stay long enough to be able...

We stayed in one of the villas. The owners were helpful and very nice. Breakfast was simple and decent enough. The water in our villas was cool, we never figured out how to get the hot water to work in the shower, but didn't ask for help. Eric gave us great tips to get to the volcano and what to...

We enjoyed our 1 night stay before leaving Costa Rica. Curubande is close to the airport yet out in the country. It is a working hay ranch. We saw two loads of hay being brought in as we were on our way to the river to take a swim. Gorgeous river and lovely walk while seeing the mountains of Rincon...

Eric was a good host, friendly and helpful. He was also very accommodating to our needs. The place is set in a large piece of land with a river running through it, which is a ways from the lodge, but you can drive to it. They had a simple free breakfast in the morning. The last day we were they,...

We stayed one night, November 26, 2016 before leaving Costa Rica. The room was very average. We had one of the two bedroom casitas for the four of us. We could not get the hot water to work. There is some kind of contraption you have to use to get hot water. No hot water piped to the kitchenette sink...

On this active ranch you'll find some nice and clean rooms with an hammock to relax on the front porch. We started the next day with a great local breakfast. It is so quiet and you can enjoy the countryside and stilll you are less then 8 minutes from downtown Liberia and less then 20 from the airport. Sergio, the...

This hotel was perfect for our last night in Costa Rica. The rooms are small, but they are all you need. The property was very nice and the lady who makes breakfast and cleans all the rooms was very sweet.

The Rancho Curubande is a budget motel that, to its credit, feels absolutely nothing like the Motel 6s of so many American interstates. Sure, the walls are thin and the sheets are thin and the floors have a few cracks. But this place does have a bit of a getaway feel. It’s a few miles north of Liberia, tucked into...

This is a basic lodge a short distance north of Liberia and off the highway. It is good for travelers who are on a budget. The rooms are basic and clean. It is quiet here so this is the place if you would like to get away from it all. If you get a room near the reception area you...
