Even though it was rainy season we've enjoyed our stay in the nice green and quite place. The hot springs are very romantic and a fun and recomandable excursion to do. Bring your own drinks if you dont want to spend money on that.

As an individual traveler (couple) on our own in a rental car, we found the place not really geared to our type of travel. If you're coming in on a tour bus, fine. For those who travel on your own, own car and itinerary, etc., this place may not be for you. Just spend a day doing their activities but...

Thank you for your comments dkc0l0rad0 . Your observation about an individual traveler is very important and the staff will work on doing what's necessary to change this perception. Maybe you were not introduced to our menu of firewood pizza or the snack menu or the big menu with great options aside the bufet, that for many guests is a...

My wife and I stayed here for two nights and to be honest it was the most we would like to have stayed for. The staff at the hotel are fantastic but the hotel itself is looking tired and in need of a refurb. The room we had was very basic and had no TV in the room. The bathroom...

Thank you Glenn K for your comments. We have been going through a renovation process that will include installing TV's in the standard rooms, the only category without TV's. Also the solar heated system is being boosted with extra panels. Normally this is not an issue but when the mornings and evenings are cold people take extra time on the...

Stayed 2 nights as part of a Thomson holiday. Zip lining, tubeing and horse riding were on the agenda and we had a great time participating in these activities. The staff at the activity centre were professional and very well organised and we always set off on time. All the staff were friendly and courteous and went out of their...

I wish I had known before hand about the outrageous numbers of biting and stinging insects in the area. My wife and I were literally eaten alive. I left there today with with an unbelievable number of stings and bite. I stopped counting at 50. The resort itself is perfectly situated, close to the national park and loaded with amenities...

Thanks TheBlum for your review. Sorry about those insect bites. Normally its not common , but after a strong wind, those small flies (not mosquitos) bites. We are happy that you enjoyed the rest , food and amenities. We hope to see you again soon in Costa Rica.

This little resort is very close to Liberia, and can be reached in under 45 minutes on paved roads from the Liberia airport. It comprises ~50 rooms in long, one-storey buildings loosely arranged around an open green area. There is a small but nice, secluded feeling swimming pool. There is one restaurant on site that is open for 3 meals...

Thank you Mike N for your review.Lots of very good information. We are happy to know that you enjoyed your stay at Guachipelin. The restriction on the tubing was in force because the waters were strong due to rainy conditions on the mountain, but now the waters are normal. Pura vida !!!

What a beautiful hotel tucked in a beautiful location with many fun things to do. Don't skip the thermal springs, absolutely wonderful! I will be back again for sure. Food was very good and the variety was plentiful.

Thanks davej72 for your comments on trip advisor. By know the waters on the tubing are back to normal, but it was crazy for a few days due to the rain in the volcano. We are glad to know that you enjoyed your stay at Guachipelin and the new trail in the national park.

Shared a wall with a Costa Rica couple. They were quiet and well behaved. Good location to access the national park! However... Why did I not read between the lines and see this was a Disneyland like zoo. Not for me at all. Required to wear a bracelet? Why? I forfeited one of our nights and left one day early....

Thanks dgree206 for your review. As you mention, the property has the best location for the National Park. The reason that guests need to wear a bracelet is for security reasons. It's a way to know is a guest is going to one or another activity, or simply to know is that person is authorized to ride in the bus...
