we stayed with Sol Verde, and loved it. I did not appreciate how miserable the otherwise short distance between Curabande and the Guachipelin could be. The road from Liberia is now paved beautifully from Liberia to Curabande, and then the road is the same old miserable one the final 10 km. I suppose it shows I am getting soft, because...

The one downside that I hear continually about Hacienda Guachipelin in guide books is that it's a little touristy. I mean, did you come to Costa Rica just to be surrounded by other tourists? For example, I have no interest in going to Tamarindo because it's overrun by Americans. If you have other stops on your trip, I think it's...

Just ended a 10 day Costa Rican extravaganza with a 2 night stay at the Hacienda Gauchipelin. The room it's self was basic, bed was comfy and showers were hot. It was a little loud at night (lots of kids running around) and in the morning (dogs barking, doves cooing). Only booked in to this hotel to do the adventure...

This place is one of my favorites in Costa Rica, the weather is perfect, you are in contact with the nature, beautiful landscapes, amazing waterfalls, many animals as lizard, birds, monkeys; also, they have many attractions as canopy, canyoning, tubing, walking, thermals. The rooms, the pool, the restaurant and the bar are really good. I've been there 4 times and...

It was such a nice place to stay! I came with a friend and her 5 year old daughter. It was so nice to stay in a place that was so easy. We did not have a car and a taxi out there is kind of expensive, but once you are there you are all set. There are shuttles to...

This hotel has lots of adventures to do. Breakfast is included that good. the only thing is the taxi from airport is $70. I spend two days and had a great time. I recommend this hotel if you like the river, horses, canopying, and lots of fun stuff.

Overall, our experience here (4 nights) was very positive. The room (superior room) was comfortable, clean with big shower. The location is excellent and setting is beautiful. The very well cared for property is just outside the park entrance and itself is a very large, park-like area complete with waterfalls, hot springs, trails, etc. The staff are helpful and friendly...

Congratulations again to Hacienda Guachipelin. We have been there several times with our family. Our children are 10 and 12. It offers a fabulous combinations of tours / attractions. We again took the Adventure Pass and did the Canopy, Horseback riding and Tubing. Our family was again excited. In the afternoon we went to the hot pools. The accomodations a...

Stayed here for two nights in January 2013. Ours was a standard room, and it was just that: small shower, small sink, and toilet, with nowhere to put anything in the bathroom. The room had one tiny chair a double bed and a single bed. Bed sheets are the thickness of old hankies, pillows are old and tiny. The room...

Hello mmff4 , we are glad to know that some things were of your liking, like the meals and the hot springs. Some of our standard rooms have a double and a single bed, but that is just a few, the rest have 2 doubles, and we have some of our large rooms, with just 1 queen size bed, some...

Hotel is based around the activities and although the staff were friendly and helpful it was a busy hotel with a lot of day visitors. Room was nice and it was very quiet at night. Enjoyed the horse riding to the waterfall and visited the hot springs. We did a short hike in the National Park and saw the mud...

Hello Ann R, thanks for reviewing Guachipelin on TA. We are happy to know that you enjoyed the silent at night and the waterfalls and the horseback rides. The National park is the most visited in Guanacaste. We are noting the observation about activities, and we have activities for everyone, but it seems that need to inform a lot better...
